Chapter Summaries

1- Sophie and Jay decided to go to the Cafe they always go to after school. But it wasn't there usual trip to the cafe. This time, Jay found a Ouija Board app and decided to download it and do it with Sophie at the cafe. They decided to contact Sophie's dead cousin Rebecca. At first it was all fun and games but then it turned into something very weird. The lights started to flicker and there was screaming and more. That night, Sophie's mother got a call from Jay's family saying he had never come home that night.

2- Sophie was traumatized and was so heartbroken about Jay. She didn't do much for the next few days because on how traumatized she was. She also tried to do some research and what she found traumatized her even more. Many weird things started happening to her such has feeling things, seeing things, and not being able to be alone. Sophie was going on a trip to see her cousins (Rebecca's sisters). Cameron Piper and Lilias whos she's never met before because she wasn't born when she last had seen them. Once she made it, things were already off right when she walked in.

3- Many weird thing were starting to happen. Strange things with Rebecca's old room such as hearing things and seeing things. Sophie met Cameron, and he was already off. He was like a lousy teenager and only cared about his music. But Lilias however, was a very weird kid. She had a horrible fear of Bones. And in her food, was a bone that night at dinner and she was freaked out. And was screaming and crying. It used to be so bad that she tried to cut herself open and take out her collar bone.

4- That night was so bad. Sophie was sleeping peacefully until she was woken up with cold fingers pinning her down, stretching her, clawing at her, pinching her, the tiny hands were even in her mouth, so cold that they burned and blistered her skin. But Cameron had really woken her up from her dream. Sophie and Piper had a long talk about the old school. Like hoe people died, and more. This made Sophie very curious and wanted to find out more. She also things that all this weird stuff happening to her could be connected to it all.

5-Many things reminded her of what happened at the Cafe when Jay died.  Rebecca's favorite song was called Fair Charlotte. The bird they have was singing the song when they walked in and came back from the walk. It sounded very familiar. Sophie soon realized that it was because it was the song that played at the cafe. When everything went dark and it was all making sense now. Everything was connecting together and all the weird stuff that was happening to her was all connecting.

6- Sophie decided to explore downstairs while Piper and her dad were at lunch. While she was exploring, she found all of her cousins old notebooks and scrolled through them trying to find Rebecca's. Once she found it, she noticed it was the same thing written on the next four pages. She decided to go back into her room. She thought she saw Lilias skipping around the burnt tree in the backyard. Yet 2 seconds later she appeared at Sophie's door. Lilias said that it was Rebecca outside and that Lilas was playing with her. That night, she had a dream about Jay. he was talking to her and he was soaking wet. Then he said it was because he drowned.

7- Once Sophie woke up from her dream, She woke up to the sound of Fair Charlotte Rebecca's favorite song. And it was coming from the music box in Rebecca's room in the middle of the night. She got out of bed and noticed the door to Rebecca's room was slightly open. She went in and closed the music box. Then, she heard scratching noises coming from the Charlotte dolls. Lilas then showed up next to Sophie and Sophie accidentally hit her. Lilas told Sophie that she must not go into Rebecca's room at night because she doesn't want the dolls getting out. The next morning Cameron attacked Piper because he thought Piper did something to Lilias because of her bruise.

8- Cameron had told Sophie that Piper had problems and is really a devious child and is evil. But Sophie didn't believe Cameron. While Sophie was having a talk with her uncle,Piper came in and suggested that her and Sophie go outside and have a tea party. So they went outside. Sophie noticed that the lemonade had tiny Frozen Charlotte dolls were in the drink as ice cubes. Once Sophie saw that she was a little skeptical. While they were playing outside, Piper had some not so good stuff to say about Cameron. And how he hit Pipers boyfriend Brett with a riding crop. Sophie felt something sharp bit her cheek. Which made her start to bleed. It was one of the frozen Charlotte dolls and it had bit Sophie.

9- Sophie was agina woken in the middle of the night and hear the frozen charlotte dolls saying things like, Sophie let us out, we want to play with you, and more weird stuff. She ran into Rebecca's room and all the voices stopped at the same time. This time, all of the dolls are laying down except the ones with no head, as if they were trying to see out and scratch the glass. The next night, she sat out in Rebecca's room staring at the dolls waiting for something to happen. But that night, so many weird things happened.

10- Sophie that night saw someone walking out the door. Already being freaked out, she went to investigate. She found out it was just Piper going off with her boyfriend Brett. The next morning, Piper screamed and it was because Cameron's piano (the only thing he loves in life), was in pieces. Everyone thought it was Brett considering last night. The police had to come and investigate everything, including Brett. The police came back with saying that Brett had sworn he hadn't did it. They found out that the piano wasn't fixable and Cameron was devastated.

11- Sophie and Lilias had a long talk about the dolls. Lilias also pointed out that they never speak to boys only girls and also how there faces are imprinted in the burnt tree in the backyard. A little bit later Piper asked Sophie if she wanted to go on a beach camping trip with Brett and a few of her friends. Sophie said yes even though she didn't want to. Later that day, Sophie decided to take a bath. Not realizing the mistake she made. When she got in, it was warm, but then it cooled off very quickly. Then she realized it was ice cold. She tried to lift herself out but then, it all froze.

12- At this point, Sophie was so ready to go home back to her mom. She ran downstairs after her bath to her uncles paint studio to tell him she wants to leave tonight. They have a long conversation about it and eventually Cameron walked in and immediately wanted Sophie to leave and was thrilled she was. A few minutes later, Lilias came up to Sophie to tell her she got a message from Jay. She said Rebecca sent it to her. It said, Jay says hello. Cameron is always trying to convince Sophie that Piper is not a good person and not what she seems like. That is also the reason why Cameron wants Sophie to leave. He said it's not safe for her here for many reasons.

13- Cameron told Sophie that Piper started the fire that almost killed Rebecca. Then, he told her the whole story which at this point, Sophie was almost totally convinced that Piper was not who she really is. That night, Lilias said something that really freaked out Sophie. She told Sophie to lock her bedroom door so the dolls wont get in. She also said that she would tell Cameron that she is scared again so he would sleep on the chair in Lilias room so she can keep him safe. That night, Lilias also said that Piper hates Cameron because he's the only one who can see the real side of her.

14- That night was one of the weirdest nights. Sophie hear the piano keys downstairs. But the piano was broken and as soon as she remembered that, she ran downstairs. She snapped a photo of what was happening to show it to Cameron. The next morning, she wanted to do some research on the picture downstairs in the school room. The photo was of students and a teacher all in a line. And there was one girl with a blindfold around her eyes. She found out that her name was Martha Jones. She wanted to do research because she thought this was all connected to what is happening now. She also did research on Martha's family and found someone who she can talk to and did. She found out lots of info.

15- Piper was waiting for Sophie to head down to the beach with Brett, and more people. There was 6 people there total. On this trip, Sophie finally got to see Piper's true side just like Cameron was talking about it. Piper and her friends were all making fun of Sophie for things she said, her pj's, and not wanting to play truth or dare. Sophie went to bed early after getting into an argument with one of the girls. In the morning, Brett woke up screaming with his hands covering his eyes.

16- After Brett got taken away by the paramedics, Sophie went to go clean up his stuff in the tent while the other mean girls and Piper were giggling and talking (which shows Piper doesn't have a care about Brett). Sophie finds something shocking. With blood all over everything and Brett's pillow, blanket, and sleeping bag. Once she picked up the sleeping bag, she was shocked and traumatized on what she saw. Since Cameron was a suspect, he needed to go to the police station to get interviewed. 

17- Sophie and Piper were also taken to the police station to get interviewed. They got put into separate rooms. Sophie mostly got interviewed and she tried to lie to the police officer and say Cameron wasn't on the beach that night. Which he was, yet she knows for a fact that Cameron didn't do it because she saw who did. Later when they got home, Sophie's uncle told Sophie her parents were coming tomorrow to come and get her. She didn't know why, but she will find out soon. Lilias told Sophie Rebecca said that Piper has a note for her. So they went to go find the note and what it said was shocking.

18- The note was a suicide note writing in Sophie's handwriting but not from her. Sophie realized that she tried to copy her handwriting and finally got it perfect. She decided to call her mom but she didn't pick up. So she called the home phone and found a bunch of voice mails. All of them from Piper acting to be Sophie with the exact voice. The first one was her crying and saying how it was a mistake to come to Skye. as soon as she heard the first message, she knew she was ins serious danger. She knew Piper was evil, but she never knew she wanted to kill Sophie. Sophie later decided to take out all of the Frozen Charlotte dolls and throw them in the ocean. 

19- As Sophie went to go to the cliff to throw the dolls in the ocean, right after she did, something very strange happened. She saw a girl, Rebecca. She walked up behind her and she turned around slowly and stuck out her hand. Sophie and Rebecca connected hands and suddenly, she saw Rebecca and Piper going to the cliff at night. She then saw Rebecca falling of the cliff onto a ledge. Because, Piper pushed her off. Then, when Rebecca climbed back up, she was pushed again by Piper but onto sharp spikes, then left her in the cold. It was so cold, that she started seeing things. Then her heart slowly stopped.

20- Sophie opened her eyes once she saw everything that REALLY happened. She then turned around to walk back but saw Piper standing behind her with a knife behind her back. And then, Piper said that the dolls wanted to play the knife game. And piper chased after Sophie until Sophie jumped off onto the same ledge Rebecca fell on. Sophie told Piper that she threw the dolls away and Piper was steaming. So she went back to the house to Lilias. Then, once Sophie climbed back up, Cameron helped her up and they both decided to go to the house and look for Lilias and Piper.

21- As soon as Cameron and Sophie walked in the house, they heard the dolls whispering. They started to look for Lilias and found her in the old school classroom with a knife to her neck. Luckily, Cameron stopped her and took hr and Sophie to the roof of the house for safety. As they were walking, Piper stabbed Cameron in the side with a knife and he was okay he was just hurt. Piper eventually found them and had a plan to light the house on fire and burn them.

22- They found a way to climb down safely. They got down and they made there way threw out the house. But they only got there way out because Rebecca showed them the way. At first, they lost Lilias. But then, she came back out with Shellycoat (their cat). Once PIper noticed they were out, she ran other and tried to kill Cameron. But then, Pipers Frozen Charlotte necklace, started to bite her because all of the other dolls were in the walls and they begged her to come and  save them. The house collapsed on her later on. Finally, Uncle James came back and called the paramedics and they took Cameron to the hospital. 6 months later,  Cameron and Sophie met up to catch up and talk. Cameron said that Piper had died because the house collapsed on her.
