The theme of the book "Ablaze" by Christopher Krovatin is, don't trust everyone.
I know this because in chapter 23 Aly starts letting off pressure and trusts Rachel and is honest and talks about the fire. Rachel Betrays her and says she's going to pin it on Aly, Later Aly tackles Rachel to the ground because she gets angry and Rachel gets hurt due to being unfaithful. Rachel starts burning down the place due to being angry, and Aly gets trapped. If Aly hadn't trusted her then She would have been able to escape and inform the police.
Later in the same chapter, Simon makes a deal with Rachel and trusts her, but she breaks the deal and starts burning down the area. Aly protects because she had a feeling this was going to happen due to Rachel breaking her trust and going crazy. Simon and he starts to use his powers on Rachel to escape. Which allows them to If Rachel didn't break Simons's trust, she wouldn't have gotten hurt.
This proves that the theme of the book "Ablaze" is not to trust everyone.
