Deep and Dark and Dangerous.

This story takes place in March on Ali's summer break. Ali is the main character and Ali has till the end of her summer to figure out who is the person torn out of the photograph. The theme of deep dark and dangerous,by Mary Downing Hahn, is if you listen to the right people bad things won’t happen.

Clair Ali's mom “I told you what it’s like there. Rain and mosquitoes and cold and gloomy days.” 

In the beginning of the book Ali’s mother told them not to go back to the cottage because it has bad weather and it’s just not fun but they did anyway. Later in the book a series of bad things were happening because of things that happened in the past. Dulcie and Ali ended up getting depressed and things just kept  happening. Only if they listened to Ali's mom in the first palace none of this would have happened. Dulcie “Your mother was right, I should've never come back here.”

If they didn’t go to the lake and would’ve listened to Ali's mother clair  … Then they wouldn’t be depressed and  bad things wouldn’t have happened and Ali could have had a better summer.

Sissy“I want to be buried.”  This is what caused the reward. Ali and her family listened and helped sissy get what she wanted, which was to be buried properly, and really what she needed. Sissy got to rest in peace and Ali’s family got to go on with their lives and heal from their traumatic experience.  

 Ali “We left sissy resting peacefully under the angel's protective hand.”

Since Ali and her family listened to sissy… sissy left them alone and she got to rest in peace. 

Therefore if you listen to the right people bad things won’t happen And that is the theme of my book.
