Week 8

This week you have two writing sessions.

In these sessions you have the opportunity to write a persuasive text about a topic of your choice.

T4W8 - Persuasive Writing - Own Choice

T4W7 - Persuasive writing as a letter

Week 7

This week we will be looking at how you can use Persuasive Writing to plead a case.

We will be writing a letter to Mr Thomas to convince him to include an item of your choice in the new Parkview School uniform.

T4W6 Persuasive Writing in Advertisements

Week 6

This week we will be looking at how you can use Persuasive Writing in Advertisements.

We are learning this so that when the time comes, you are prepared to create your advertisement for the product or service you will be selling on our Market Day.

Week 4

Group writing: Using last week's persuasive writing about the beach compared to the pool, choose one paragraph to craft. With your group you will learn how to improve it by looking at how you can add detail and make it more emotive so that the reader will be swayed to your point of view. What else can you add to make your writing more effective?

Week 3

Your group will be working through this Google Slide towards the end of this week. Once you understand how Persuasive texts are structured, you will create your own text on this statement:

The beach is better than the pool.

Your group will come up with some ideas and the introduction together first.

Week 2

In preparation for this week's writing sample, we will be revising Narratives on Tuesday.

Click on the Google Slide and make a copy. Share the copy with your buddy and work through the Slides, adding in all the things you have learned about Narratives. This could be words, pictures or screenshots - anything that shows your ideas relating to the questions on each slide.

Once finished, work with your partner to write a narrative based on the picture on Slide 6. Happy narrating!

For the rest of the week, we will begin to look at Radio advertising and persuasive language.

Click on the Google Slide and make a copy. Rename and share with your buddy. You will work through the slides as a group with your class, learning about radio adverts and then, eventually, drafting a script for a radio advert!
