About the Program

The Meet and Greet was developed by our former 8th grade Superintendent Leadership Committee Members (SSLC) who felt it was important to establish a sense of community and belonging for the incoming 6th grade and new 7th and 8th graders.

This program encompasses all aspects of SMS life and culture. Incoming 6th graders (and new students) will not only learn how to navigate our hallways, operate lockers, and see their classrooms but, they will also get an opportunity to build relationships with other students before the start of school, in hope, to make the transition to a new building less scary and intimidating. 

One of the most unique parts of this program is that each member will be assigned to a team and will serve as Mentors to those students. They will make themselves available to help and guide the new students throughout their first year here at Springhouse, providing another opportunity to build relationships and cultivate a sense of community.
