MIDWEEK MESSAGE
MIDWEEK MESSAGE
Help Needed On Sunday!
Now that Christmas day is past, it is time for the decorations to come down around the church. We will be un-decorating the church on this coming Sunday, January 4, and we need your help! Stay after church and help us put away the decorations for another year. If you have any questions, reach out to Pastor Cody.
Do you have stocks, bonds, or other investments that you would like to donate to help our church's ministries? Do you have a 401K or IRA that has a "required minimum distribution (RMD)" that you can send directly to the church and save on your income taxes? Are you interested in handling this before the end of the year?
Contact Candi in the church office (303-841-3979) and she can get you what you need.
Thank you for supporting what God is doing through us in our church, community and world.
The church office will be closed Thursday, December 25 through Friday, January 2. Staff will be working limited hours during the week.
If you need something, please email the church office or leave a message at the church (303-841-3979) as these will be monitored and forwarded as needed to a staff member.
Please contact Pastor Laura or Pastor Cody for any emergencies.
We appreciate your support as our staff take some time with their families.

In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church. THEY ARE NOT MEETING DECEMBER 31 FOR THE HOLIDAY.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For January 4 worship:
Arise and Shine
Scripture: Matthew 2:1-12 and Isaiah 60:1-6
Guiding Questions:
In Matthew’s story, the Magi are outsiders who notice the star. Why do you think they were able to see the light when others missed it? What do you think it cost them to follow the star?
Herod is troubled by the light, while the Magi are drawn to it. Why do you think God’s light can feel threatening to some and hopeful to others?
If Epiphany is about revealing Christ’s light to the world, what is one intentional way you can reflect that light this week? What does it look like to shine God’s light in ordinary ways—in your home, workplace, school, or community?
Please join us Sunday, Ephiphany Sunday, the first Sunday of the year. This Sunday's message is Arise and Shine and our scripture readings are Matthew 2:1-12 and Isaiah 60:1-6.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
