MIDWEEK MESSAGE
Holiday Brass and Carol Sing Featuring The Denver Brass
Relax from the stress of the holiday and enjoy the Denver Brass and a Christmas carol sing with Kurt and Paul. This FREE concert will be in the Sanctuary on Friday, December 20 from 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Longest Night Prayer Service
Come to our sanctuary on Sunday, December 22 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. for a quiet time away from the busyness of the season. This is a time to pray, speak with a pastor or Stephen Minister, or just be yourself. There will be prayer stations to help you in your time of meditation and quiet reflection.
Christmas Eve Services
Join us on Tuesday, December 24 at one of our four Christmas Eve Services:
2 & 4 p.m. - We invite you to a fun-filled family service where kids help tell the Christmas Story. Come experience a place to worship and celebrate the greatest gift God gave us. We will end the service with everyone's favorite, candle lighting to "Silent Night."
6 & 8 p.m. - We invite you to our familiar Christmas Eve service reading scripture, singing Christmas carols, special music from both our choir and handbells, and a pastoral message. We will also end with everyone's favorite: lighting candles while singing "Silent Night."
Both the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. services will be livestreamed.
Invite your family, friends, neighbors, or people you are just meeting to celebrate with us the birth of Jesus who has come into our world.
Christmas Eve Help Needed
It’s the time of the year that we are rehearsing for. We know that Christmas Eve is the busiest day at the church as we welcome guests to come and worship with us. To make it a day filled with hospitality, we need your help!
We are looking for volunteers to serve at each of our four services as ushers, greeters, coffee/cookie hosts, and parking lot attendants. We also are looking for people to bring Christmas cookies to add a little cheer and hospitality.
Please sign up to serve by clicking here.

Have you made your 2025 Commitment Yet?
Thank you to the 79 individuals/families who brought their Commitment and Time & Talent Cards to church or dropped them off at the church office or made a commitment online.
It's not too late for you to share your commitments. Extra cards are available in the church office or at the welcome table (outside the sanctuary). Bring your cards and put them in the offering plate or offering basket in the back. You can also drop by the church office. You can also complete the online commitment card.
Thank you for prayerfully considering how you might partner with what God is doing through Parker UMC.
Hospitality Matters!!
Power of First Impressions are powerful. The first few minutes of a visitor’s experience in this church can leave a lasting impression. Intentionally welcoming visitors with a smile or a handshake can go a long way in making people feel accepted and valued. Children are remarkable at greeting people around them and we can certainly use their willingness to be friendly as an example for our hospitality
Consider: How might you help a visitor's first impression be a good one? Perhaps smile and offer a handshake to those you don't know as well or even recognize. Say, "Welcome! So glad you are here. Let me know if you need anything."

Feed My Starving Children Invitation
Happy Holidays! It's hard to imagine just over a month ago we were packing food to feed starving children.
Sunday, January 19, 2025, we invite you to join us in discussing the future of Parker FMSC and look at retrospectives on how we can improve feeding starving children.
Mark your calendars and email Tia for details. We will share more information in early January.
We look forward to working with you to help starving children across the globe!
Faith Talk Questions
In preparation for Sunday worship, we will provide 3 questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. We hope this will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For December 22 worship:
Sermon Title: When Light Shines
Scripture: Isaiah 9:1-7, John 1:1-5
Guiding Questions:
In The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, the Grinch steals all of the things related to Christmas from the Who's, yet he shows a little kindness to Cindy Lou Who when he gently guides her back to bed, showing us that the Grinch does have a heart, it is just a little small. How is God is at work even in the Grinches of our lives, even in the Grinch within each of us?
This Sunday is the last Sunday in Advent. What is the role of waiting in the season of Advent? What do we hope will happen as we pause for a moment and ponder what God is doing? What have you experienced this Advent season that has surprised you?
John 1:5 shares that "the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it." When have you experienced light in the midst of darkness? How has it been an example of God's love at work in your life, especially in the hard seasons of the soul?
This Sunday's Service
Please join us this Sunday as we finish our Advent sermon series: The Heart That Grew Three Sizes: Finding Faith in the Story of Grinch. This Sunday's message is When Light Shines and the scripture readings for this Sunday are Isaiah 9:1-7 and John 1:1-5.
Regular Worship Services
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
