Blue Christmas Prayers on The Longest Night
We invite you to a time of candles, music, prayers and quiet reflection on Monday, December 22, 6:00 p.m. in the Commons Area at church.
Many of us need some time to get away from the Christmas preparations. Some of us are grieving. Others may not feel as jolly as people expect.
Come to pause. To embrace the light. And know that God is with you no matter how you feel. In fact, the Light of the World came into the darkness because of what we need -- hope, peace, joy and love.
Please reach out to Pastor Laura for any questions or if you would like to help during the service.
Christmas Eve
Join us on Wednesday, December 24 at one of our four Christmas Eve Services:
2 & 4 p.m. - We invite you to a fun-filled family service where kids help tell the Christmas Story. Come experience a place to worship and celebrate the greatest gift God gave us. We will end the service with everyone's favorite, candle lighting to "Silent Night."
6 & 8 p.m. - We invite you to our familiar Christmas Eve service reading scripture, singing Christmas carols, special music from both our choir and handbells, and a pastoral message. We will also end with everyone's favorite: lighting candles while singing "Silent Night."
Both the 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. services will be livestreamed.
Invite your family, friends, neighbors, or people you are just meeting to celebrate with us the birth of Jesus who has come into our world.

It’s the time of the year that we are rehearsing for. We know that Christmas Eve is the busiest day at the church as we welcome guests to come and worship with us. To make it a day filled with hospitality, we need your help!
We are looking for volunteers to serve at each of our four services as ushers, greeters, and coffee/cookie hosts. We also are looking for people to bring Christmas cookies to add a little cheer and hospitality.
Please sign up to serve by clicking here.

Thank you for helping us create a warm and safe space for our littlest members!
Have you considered the PUMC Endowment Funds for end-of-year giving?
Through gifts today and bequests and future gifts that are realized years from now, many churches, including Parker UMC, have built an endowment fund that assures a flow of funds that can support their church’s ministry for generations to come.
The foresight of those who have given already is providing the basis for a lasting legacy – your gifts and provisions in your will today will make a difference for your children and their children as this church will continue to minister to the community and the world.
Do you have stocks, bonds, or other investments that you would like to donate to help our church's ministries? Do you have a 401K or IRA that has a "required minimum distribution (RMD)" that you can send directly to the church and save on your income taxes? Are you interested in handling this before the end of the year?
Contact Sarah or Candi in the church office (303-841-3979) and she can get you what you need.
Thank you for supporting what God is doing through us in our church, community and world.
The church office will be closed Thursday, December 25 through Friday, January 2. Staff will be working limited hours during the week.
If you need something, please email the church office or leave a message at the church (303-841-3979) as these will be monitored and forwarded as needed to a staff member.
Please contact Pastor Laura or Pastor Cody for any emergencies.
We appreciate your support as our staff take some time with their families.
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For December 14 worship:
Room In Your Relationship
Scripture: Luke 1:24-25
Guiding Questions:
This week's 9 a.m. worship will include a presentation of the Messiah. This familiar piece is not connected with the reading in Luke. However, it is important to Advent. What do you know about Handel's Messiah? What scripture passages are included? How do they point to the meaning of Advent? Feel free to do research and spend time on these questions.
Our reading in Luke reminds us that the birth of Jesus was part of a larger story of hope realized. This points to the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Review their story found in Luke 1:1-25. What were their hopes? How did God respond? How might we find hope in our difficulties?
Luke 1:25 is Elizabeth's glorifying God. Yet, it is stark to acknowledge that her barrenness was a reason for people to look upon her in disgrace. How does this sound in our culture in 2025? What are the situations that people might find disgraceful? And how might God answer their prayers so there is Room in Relationship for all?
Please join us Sunday as we continue the season of Advent with our sermon series, Sanctuary: Room For All. This Sunday's message is Room In Relationship and our scripture reading is Luke 1:24-25.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
