Thank you for helping us create a warm and safe space for our littlest members!
Let's continue the conversation around Sanctuary at adult Sunday school this Sunday, December 7 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in Room 137. All are welcome! All you need to bring is your curiosity. Led by Susan Gustin.
The United Women of Faith (UWF) thanks each of you who helped make our bake sale a success. Many of you brought items for or bought items at the sale, and many of you paid us more than we were asking. We make $912.00 for missions. Thank you!
Our mission work goes to people in many places throughout the world as well as here in our country and at home.
May our Gracious God bless you and your family in every way you need. As we enter this time of Advent, may all of our church families be enlightened by God's wondrous love.
The UWF of Parker UMC
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For December 7 worship:
Room In Your Heart
Scripture: Mark 1:1-8
Guiding Questions:
Our reading in Mark introduces us to John the Baptist. What do we know about it? What image comes to mind when considering him?
Verses 2-3 are a quote from Isaiah 40:3. Who is the messenger? What is the role of this messenger when people are in the wilderness?
What is John's role in Advent? How and what might John be speaking to us today?
If his message is about preparation, what do you need to do to prepare? What are we preparing for anyway? And what does this have to do with our title, Room In Your Heart?
Please join us Sunday as we begin the season of Advent with our sermon series, Sanctuary: Room For All. This Sunday's message is Room In Yourt Heart and our scripture reading is Mark 1:1-8.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
