Christmas Outreach
This Christmas season, Parker UMC will be partnering with Parker Task Force once again to provide help to those in need.
We will be collecting socks and underwear for children ages 2-18 and we will also be collecting new toys. Please leave the toys unwrapped and the folks at Parker Task Force will take care of the rest.
Large collection boxes will be set up outside the sanctuary from November 16-November 30.
Nursery Help Needed
We’re looking for caring volunteers or paid helpers (High Schoolers and adults) to serve in our Nursery. The hours are minimal, but the impact is huge—your presence helps welcome new and young families and supports our growing church community.

Thank you for helping us create a warm and safe space for our littlest members!

Many thanks to those who gave us your 2026 Commitments. We are grateful for the ways you are supporting our church and ministries.
If you have not had a chance to do so, please bring your commitment card to church on Sunday and place in the offering basket, or drop by the church office. You can also reach out to Pastor Laura or Sarah.
I am excited to share that of those commitments received, 28 increased their amount over 2025. Additionally, we have received 10 from those who did not make a commitment in 2025 (some are from new members and attenders). This shows that there is excitement with how God is working through Parker UMC. You all are amazing!
For those who have online and ongoing gifts, we still need a Commitment card. If you have any questions about how to update these online gifts for 2026, please reach out to Sarah.
Thank you for supporting Parker UMC with your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness in 2026!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For November 23 worship:
Gifted for the Good of One Another
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10; 1 Peter 4:8-11
Guiding Questions:
1 Thessalonians is an interesting message from Paul. All of chapter 4 is encouraging the church to do what is essential as the time for Jesus to return is coming soon. How important might it be to "love one another" if Jesus is coming soon and very soon? What might affect how important this is?
Likewise, 1 Peter 4 is also concerned about the end drawing near. Yet, discipline is still important (v. 7). Isn't it interesting that it is within this context that we are urged to be hospitable without complaining. What do you make of this?
1 Peter 4:10 reminds us we are stewards of God's grace, and we must serve one another with the gifts we have received. What in your life is a gift that is given to you? How are you called to share your gift, to be a good steward of it?
Consider hospitality as a gift given to us by God. How does that affect how you see your role in welcoming? What role does serving others play in God's kingdom offered to us through Jesus?
Finally, what has touched you as we considered radical hospitality these past several weeks?
Please join us Sunday as we wrap up our series, Radical Hospitality Rooted in Christ. This Sunday's message is Gifted for the Good of One Another and our scripture readings are 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10; 1 Peter 4:8-11.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
