Stewardship Series

We begin our Commitment Campaign for 2025 this week. Our series, Release God's Blessings, challenges us to rethink our understanding of blessings and what it means to be blessed. While it is true that God, by grace, freely gives us all that we have, we are not just passive recipients of God's blessings!

Just as God blesses us through people in our lives, so does God promise to bless others through us. When we live from a place of gratitude for God's gifts and trust in God's provision, we can be agents of God's blessings in our world.

Join us in worship these next 3 Sundays to consider our blessings and how we might bless others.

We will celebrate on November 24 Commitment Sunday.

Sanctuary Needs

Thank you so much, everyone, for your generosity. We have enough funds to move forward with our immediate needs of replacing and upgrading these systems in the sanctuary.

We will share more information as we have it soon.

At The Table

Join us for our monthly dinner worship service, At The Table, on November 13 from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

At The Table is a great place to connect with others. At The Table we share a meal, conversations and do a mission project together.  This month's mission is packing manna bags for our unhoused neighbors.

SECOR Volunteers Needed

Looking for ways to serve in our community and help make a difference? SECOR is seeking volunteers, particularly on Thursday afternoons, to help in their free food market and bring smiles and dignity to their shoppers.

Want to learn more or sign up? Email Monica Aden or click here to go to SECOR's website.

Christmas Outreach

This Christmas season, Parker UMC will be partnering with the Parker Task Force to provide help to those in need.

We will collect new socks and underwear for children ages 2-18 and we will also collect new toys. Please leave the toys unwrapped and the folks at Parker Task Force will take care of the rest.

Large collection boxes will be set up outside of the sanctuary from November 17 to December 8.

Spread the Word - Leave Us a Review!

Do you love our faith community?  Has Parker UMC been an important part of your faith experience?  Share with others by leaving us a review!  Your words matter as people read reviews to help them decide to come check us out.  This is an easy way to be able to spread the word, and we need your help!

Hospitality Matters!!

Church Hospitality plays a significant role in evangelism. When we all have a positive experience at church, whether at worship or any event in the building, we are more likely to share the experience with others. Word-of-mouth recommendations are powerful, but by each of us providing a warm and welcoming environment, we are creating opportunities for people to encounter the love of Christ.

Consider:  How do you see yourself in helping our church be a place that is warm and welcoming?

AARP Smart Drive Course

This class will be offered Saturday, November 16, 8:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. in room 144.

This course covers defensive driving techniques and the normal changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time associated with aging. Participates will learn practical techniques and operating vehicles more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment.

One benefit: all auto insurance companies give a three-year discount for taking the class. Check with your insurance company for details.

Cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. Checks should be made payable to AARP.

To register, contact Larry McLaughlin by email or call 303-741-1403

Faith Talk Questions

In preparation for Sunday worship, we will provide 3 questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. We hope this will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.

For November 10 worship:

This Sunday's Service

Please join us this Sunday as we begin our Stewardship sermon series: Releasing God's Blessings.  This Sunday's message is A Legacy of Blessings: I Know Who I Am. The scripture reading for this Sunday is 2 Corinthians 9:1-5.
