On Saturday, September 13, CPR classes (American Heart Association) will be offered at Parker UMC. Two classes will be offered: 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.. Class size is limited to 12 students per class. Minimum age to register is 13 -- there is no maximum age! Cost per student is $30. Payment will be made at the class (cash or check only).
Our instructor is church member Hal Gustin. Hal is a certified American Heart Association instructor, a licensed Colorado EMT, and a Board-certified tactical responder (TR-C).
Please register by Thursday evening, September 11. Register by emailing Sarah in the church office or Hal Gustin directly.
Confirmation will begin soon for our youth 6th grade and older who are looking to dive deeper into their faith, ask the tough questions, wrestle with doubt, and find out more about this thing called Methodism. This is an important step in the faith development for our youth. This is also a path for youth to become members of the church.
To find out more information, including the dates of classes, or to register your youth, please email Cody.
Are you looking to get connected with others over dinner? Join one of our Dinner Groups!
This is a great way for people in our church to meet with others and share in fellowship. We offer group options for meals in restaurants or homes, and lunch or dinner groups. Groups are typically for 6 people.
Sign up with this link or fill out the form at the Welcome Desk.
Contact Pastor Laura if you have any questions.
Have you noticed the rising costs of your favorite chocolate? Our chocolate prices remain the same!
We are still selling chocolate and would love to fill your pantries up! Each of our World's Finest Chocolate bars is $2 and every penny goes to our youth program.
Buy your chocolate in the church office today!

We are collecting the names and addresses of our college kids so that we can send them letters and care packages from the church.
Email your college student's mailing address to Cody.
The Grandparents Group will not meet in September due to the Labor Day holiday.
Please join us October 6!
Join us Sunday, September 7 from 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM for a Car Show. Door Prizes, Trophies, Food Truck, Kids Games, Family Fun Day. $20 Donation and Entry Fee benefit the Parker Task Force. We need volunteers to help with the show. Interested? Call or text Jack Kear at 505-235-9574.
Our 9-Hole Golf Event and Dinner has been a great success over the past couple of years. However, the silent auction is one way that it is successful in supporting our church's ministries. Sponsors are another important part of this event.
Are you part of a business or organization that would be interested in sponsoring this event? There are several ways sponsors will be acknowledged during the event. Please speak with Pastor Laura if you have any connections.
We are looking for donations for the silent auction. Do you have any larger ticket items (a stay at a mountain home, etc.) that could be used in our silent auction? Is there something you can offer? Please speak with Pastor Laura for more information.
The deadline to contribute a donation to the Silent Auction is Monday, September 1.
We appreciate your help in making this 3rd tournament dinner and silent auction an even greater success!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church. You can also form your own discussion group.
Contact Doug McKinney if you are interested or have questions. We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For August 31 worship:
Out of Nothing
Scripture: Genesis 1:1-5, 2:4-7, 18-25, 3:1-7
Guiding Questions:
Read Genesis 1:1-5. What is scripture trying to teach us here? What questions does this passage bring up to you?
Genesis chapters 1-3 are the Biblical creation story. How does this story compare with a scientific explanation of "creation" or how our world began? What is the tension you experience in asking and answering these questions?
Many see a tension between faith and science. Our resource says that 51% of scientists today believe in some God or higher power, and 33% believe in a personal God. Does this surprise you? Why or why not?
Read Genesis 3:1-7. What questions do you have about this? What is the message of this passage to you?
Please join us Sunday as we begin our new sermon series, In the Beginning . . . An Exploration of Genesis. This Sunday's messsage is Out of Nothing; our scripture readings are Genesis 1:1-5, 2:4-7, 18-25, 3:1-7.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
