MIDWEEK MESSAGE
Potluck on Sunday, August 23 about Mission Trips
This past summer, our youth had 2 amazing mission trip experiences. Pastor Laura also had a great trip to Kenya. The Youth and Pastor Laura would like to share about what we experienced and what we learned.
Join us for a potluck lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 23 to hear about these experiences. Please bring something to share.
Please reach out to Pastor Laura for any questions.
Summer Movie Series
What if God can meet us in the most unexpected places, even at the movies? Join us the last two Sundays of summer as we end with our sermon series “Movies with a Message,” a sermon series that invites us to look at familiar stories through the lens of faith and discover where we see God’s love, grace, courage, and hope.
The two movies in this year's sermon series are:
August 30 — Wicked: Created to Make A Difference
September 7 — Moana: Do Something
Whether you've seen these films a dozen times or have never watched them, there’s a message waiting for you. Come join us for worship, good stories, and a reminder that God is everywhere, even in the movies! We hope you’ll join us!

Parking on Pine Dr.
In the past, there were parking spaces available on Pine Drive just east of the church's parking lot. The Town of Parker has repaved Pine Drive and added a bike lane. This has removed those parking places.
We wanted to alert you about this change. We don't know if these places will be monitored, but wanted to let you know just in case.
If you have any questions, please speak with Pastor Cody or Pastor Laura.
Got Questions about Wills & Trusts?
Our church cares about your spiritual health as well as your need to be a good steward of your tangible and financial assets. Being a good steward of your assets is difficult after your death unless you establish a plan to carry out your wishes. That plan is a Will or Trust.
These documents spell out who will have guardianship of minor children and how assets are distributed (family, friends, church, other organizations). Without a Will or Trust, Colorado statutes will decide how your assets are distributed rather than you.
It is easy to procrastinte. After all, it requires us to think about our death. But having a Will or Trust in place is a gift to others.
Learn more about the upcoming Will Power Seminar at our church on Sunday, September 13, 10:30 a.m. in room 216.

We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For August 23 Sunday worship:
This week's sermon: Celebrate New Life
Scripture: Mark 5:35-43
Guiding Questions:
Today we Celebrate New Life. How do you define new life? This can take different interpretations in different contexts.
Our passage today is about the restoration of a young girl. However, it is part of a larger narrative. Read Mark 5:21-43. Who are the major players? What happens? What does healing and restoration look like here?
Many of these healing stories in the gospel accounts are considered miracles. What are your thoughts about miracles? How does this impact how you read these accounts?
Restoration occurs in different ways. In Jesus' time, sickness was often attributed to sin. When someone was ill, they were kept apart from the rest of the community. How does healing affect not just the person's physical illness but their relationships? This could look different today than in Jesus' time.
What might it look like for you to experience new life? How might that be something to celebrate?
Please join us this Sunday for our four week series Celebrate. This Sunday's message is Celebrate New Life and our scripture reading is Mark 5:35-43.
