MIDWEEK MESSAGE
MIDWEEK MESSAGE
July 4th Weekend - FIREWORKS CANCELLED
The church office will be closed on Friday, July 3, to observe the July 4th holiday.
There will be one worship service at 10 a.m. on July 5.
July 4th Fireworks have been cancelled due to increased fire restrictions.
We will open our parking lot for vehicles to watch the July 4th Fireworks that begin at 9:30 pm. Our parking lot is the perfect place to watch the July 4th fireworks, and we need your help! We are looking for a great team to offer hospitality, either parking lot attendees or people to just walk around and get to meet our neighbors. We would love for you to come and join the fun and offer your love and kindness as we open up our church to our community.
To volunteer to help or to find out more information, email Cody.
For any emergencies, please contact Pastor Laura.

Ushers Needed
Have you been wondering how you can be involved at Parker UMC and give back? We need YOU!
We are looking for volunteers to serve as ushers on the 4th Sunday of each month! Ushers play an important role in welcoming people, helping everyone feel comfortable, and assisting during worship services. It’s a simple but meaningful way to serve and help create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our church family and guests.
If you would be willing to help or would like more information, please contact Pastor Cody.
Organizing for Dignity
Together Colorado will meet in our church Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, July 15, 6-8 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Together Colorado is a nonpartisan, multi-racial and multi-faith community organization working to place human dignity at the center of public life across the state. It brings together faith communities within local regions to build relationships, identify shared concerns, and take collective action. The Southern Front Range Chapter is the newest region in the state.
This Chapter was launched in 2025, bringing together communities in the southern Front Range, including cities in Arapahoe and Douglas counties. The Chapter meets at various churches in the area, and they are excited to meet at our church!
You are invited to attend the next meeting to hear about how people of faith are organizing to create a community where everybody thrives without exception.
Here is the Meeting Registration Link.
Contact Lindsay Ott for any questions you might have.
Summer Office Hours
With upcoming mission trips, planned staff vacations, Vacation Bible School and summer meetings, our staff may not be available when you stop by the office. If you need to meet with someone or need help getting into the building, please call ahead to the church office at 303-841-3979 or email the staff person (firstname@ parkerumc.org) to make sure they are available. Thank you for your understanding during this busy season!
Sign Up for 2026 Altar Flowers
Our altar flowers each week are given in honor or memory of someone. We usually have one arrangement each Sunday. The church office orders from our vendor, Little Shop of Flowers. You do not need to contact our vendor directly; we handle it.
If you are interested in ordering flowers, please fill out the Sign Up Genius for 2026 here. You can also email or speak with Candi in the church office. Cost is $50 per arrangement.
Please speak with Candi Robinson if you have any questions.
Thanks for beautifying our altar table!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For July 5 Sunday worship:
This week's sermon: 19 Comes Before 20
Scripture: Exodus 19:1-6, 20:1-2; Matthew 22:34-40
Guiding Questions:
This week we begin studying the 10 Commandments. We will discuss each of these throughout the month. This Sunday, we begin with an overall view of what they are and what they mean. What do you remember about the 10 Commandments? How have they been shared with you or part of your life?
The 10 Commandments are in Exodus 20. We will look today at Exodus 19:1-6. These verses are part of the larger story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Again, what do you remember about this journey, the Exodus? What might the Israelites be hoping to find now that they are out of Egypt?
Exodus 19:4-6 is God's message to the Israelites through Moses. What does this say about God's commands to them? What about for us?
Matthew 22:34-40 is when someone asked Jesus which is the greatest law. How would you answer this question? What about Jesus' response resonates with you?
What other questions do you have about God's laws and commandments? Whom might you speak with or what resource would be beneficial?
Please join us this Sunday as we start a new sermon series on the 10 Commandments. This Sunday's message is 19 Comes Before 20 and our scripture reading is Exodus 19:1-6 and 20:1-2; Matthew 22:34-40
