Our parking lot is the perfect place to watch the July 4th fireworks, and we need your help! We are looking for a great team to offer hospitality, either parking lot attendees or people to just walk around and get to meet our neighbors. We would love for you to come and join the fun and offer your love and kindness as we open up our church to our community.
To volunteer to help or to find out more information, email Cody.

We will have many guests at our church for the Fourth of July. Let's get the church property spruced up to welcome them!
If you signed up to care for a section of the landscaping, this would be a great time to work on your section
We will have a mini-work day on Saturday, June 28 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. If you aren't sure what work needs doing in your section of the landscaping, Susan Gustin will be there to answer your questions.

You may have noticed a bin in the parking lot just south of the church building. If you have clothing you are no longer wearing, this is a great drop-off location. By doing so, you serve the local community, as well as the environment, by diverting clothing waste into avenues of recycling.
What We Accept in the Clothes Bin:
Clothes
Pants, jeans, skirts, dresses, suits, shorts, shirts, tees
Outerwear
Coats, jackets, gloves, hats
Footwear
Shoes, boots, heels, sneakers, sandals
Accessories
Hats, belts, ties, scarves
Handbags
Wallets, purses, totes, backpacks, briefcases
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10am at the Parker Panera. You can also form your own discussion group. Contact Doug McKinney (dmckinney787@gmail.com) if you are interested or have questions. We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For June 29 worship:
The Parable of The Two Sons
Scripture: Psalm 78:1-4, 12-16 and Matthew 21:28-32
Guiding Questions:
Psalm 78 reminds us to remember -- especially how God encountered and guided God's people during the Exodus (escape from Egypt). What stories might we share with others, especially our children, about how God has been with us? Perhaps consider this from your own point of view.
Our reading from Matthew is the Parable of the Two Sons. How would you describe each of these sons? What did they do right? What mistakes did they make?
What 2 groups of people do these 2 sons represent in Jesus' parable? What might Jesus be saying about each of them?
Consider your own heart. When have you not responded to something you felt God caling you to do? When have you not followed through on a promise you made?
Please join us Sunday as we begin our Summer sermon series, Jesus the Storyteller. This Sunday's message is The Parable of the Two Sons; our scripture readings are Psalm 78:1-4, 12-16 and Matthew 21:28-32.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
With upcoming mission trips, planned staff vacations, Vacation Bible School and summer meetings, our staff may not be available when you stop by the office. If you need to meet with someone or need help getting into the building, please call ahead to the church office at 303-841-3979 or email the staff person (firstname@ parkerumc.org) to make sure they are available. Thank you for your understanding during this busy season!
