Register Now for VBS
On June 29 - July 2, kids will step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They’ll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms. We are now taking registrations for participants and volunteers. Click here to register or email Noelle for more information.
Faith On Tap - June 16
Join us on Tuesday, June 16 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. for Faith On Tap at our new location, Lone Tree Brewing in Parker, located at 18425 Pony Express Drive.
Faith on Tap is a great place to come and share real conversations about life and faith, as well as get connected with others who are exploring their faith. All are welcome!
For more information, email Pastor Cody.
Men's Breakfast June 13
All men are invited to the Men's Breakfast this Saturday, June 13, 8:00 a.m. downstairs outside room 137. This month, Danny Winsor, Assistant Superintendent in Douglas County School District, will share updates with the group.
Questions? Please reach out to Ron Wyckoff or Jack Kear.
Summer Office Hours
With upcoming mission trips, planned staff vacations, Vacation Bible School and summer meetings, our staff may not be available when you stop by the office. If you need to meet with someone or need help getting into the building, please call ahead to the church office at 303-841-3979 or email the staff person (firstname@ parkerumc.org) to make sure they are available. Thank you for your understanding during this busy season!
Snack Donations for VBS
On June 29 - July 2, kids will step through the mist into Rainforest Falls VBS. An adventure this large requires a lot of volunteers. We anticipate about 75 volunteers will be sharing God's great big love with about 150 (or more) children! An easy way to say thank you to the hard working volunteers is to feed them. We are collecting snack foods to fuel the helpers. We take easy snack items such as chips and cookies and also appreciate fruit, water bottles and frozen appetizers for a hot treat. Please consider donating snacks; we are already accepting donations. For questions or more information email Noelle .
Church Grounds Team Needs You
Thank you to everyone who helped with Clean Up Day on May 16. We had over 50 volunteers working both inside and outside the building. Special thanks to Scout Troop 16 and the Civil Air Patrol for their volunteer efforts. So much was accomplished because of you!
Now, we need your help to keep our landscape free of weeds this summer.
Consider adopting an area of the church landscape to keep free of weeds this summer.
Questions? Reach out to Mike Droll.
Thanks for helping our grounds be welcoming to all.
Sign Up for 2026 Altar Flowers
Our altar flowers each week are given in honor or memory of someone. We usually have one arrangement each Sunday. The church office orders from our vendor, Little Shop of Flowers. You do not need to contact our vendor directly; we handle it.
If you are interested in ordering flowers, please fill out the Sign Up Genius for 2026 here. You can also email or speak with Candi in the church office. Cost is $50 per arrangement.
Please speak with Candi Robinson if you have any questions.
Thanks for beautifying our altar table!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For June 14 Sunday worship:
This week's sermon: Rahab, the Unexpected Hero
Scripture: Joshua 2:1-14, Hebrews 11:29-31
Guiding Questions:
As a woman, a foreigner, and a sex worker, Rahab occupied the lowest rungs of Canaanite society. What about her unique, vulnerable social position might give her the courage to see through the empire's illusions and trust in a different future?
Rahab is a Canaanite and a prostitute, yet becomes a vessel of God’s purposes. How does her story challenge our assumptions about who God can use? How is Wesley’s concept of Prevenient Grace at work? How has Prevenient Grace shown up in your life?
Rahab lies to her own king to protect the marginalized outsiders. When structural laws conflict with human compassion or divine justice, is deception or civil disobedience justified? If so in what ways?
If Rahab is an “unlikely hero,” what implications does her inclusion in the wider Israelite story have for contemporary communities of faith—about hospitality to outsiders, redefining who belongs, or how transformation and repentance are recognized?
Rahab offers shelter at personal risk. How does this passage inform our call to us as individuals and the church as a whole to practice hospitality, advocacy, and protection, especially for those considered “outsiders” today?
Please join us this Sunday as we start a new sermon series on Heroes of the Faith. This Sunday's message is Rahab, the Unexpected Hero and our scripture reading is Joshua 2:1-14, Hebrews 11:29-31.
