If you need to meet with someone or need help getting into the building, please call ahead to the church office at 303-841-3979 or email the staff person (firstname@ parkerumc.org) to make sure they are available. Thank you for your understanding during this busy season!

This year we will guide kids on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where northern lights glow over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and glistening glaciers. As kids trek the tundra, they’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus, True North VBS shows kids that God is a faithful friend we can always trust. God is our True North! Sounds fun, right? It is so much fun! Kids, sign up here! Teens and adults, you are an important part of welcoming the community into our church! Volunteers are needed for 1, 2, 3 or all 4 days, whatever works for your schedule. VBS is June 23-26 from 9 a.m. to Noon. Sign up here or contact Noelle for more information.
You may have noticed a bin in the parking lot just south of the church building. If you have clothing you are no longer wearing, this is a great drop-off location. By doing so, you serve the local community, as well as the environment, by diverting clothing waste into avenues of recycling.
What We Accept in the Clothes Bin:
Clothes
Pants, jeans, skirts, dresses, suits, shorts, shirts, tees
Outerwear
Coats, jackets, gloves, hats
Footwear
Shoes, boots, heels, sneakers, sandals
Accessories
Hats, belts, ties, scarves
Handbags
Wallets, purses, totes, backpacks, briefcases
We need your help to make a video about safety and first aid at the church. The video will include small scenes where you would have specific lines, and those who are part of a larger group demonstrating evacuation procedures.
This is a great service project to help the church run safely and smoothly in the event of an emergency.
Anyone interested can help on Saturday, June 7. Arrive at the church at 8:45 a.m. in order to begin filming at 9 a.m. Goodies will be available as well.
If you are willing to learn lines, please email Sonja Parson and she will get a script to you ahead of time. Please respond ASAP to help the planning process.
Looking forward to budding actors to help us make our church safer!

In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. We hope this will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For June 8 worship:
Parable of the Kingdom of Heaven
Scripture: Psalm 105:1-11 and Luke 13:18-21
Guiding Questions:
Psalm 105 is a praise for what God has done on earth and in God's people. How do you see yourself as part of God's work on earth?
Luke 13:18-21 contains 2 different sayings of Jesus. 18-19 is what is often called the Parable of the Mustard Seed. What do you know about mustard seeds? How does this parable speak to you?
The Parable of the Yeast is Luke 18:20-21. What do you think about when you think of yeast? What is yeast good for?
These images help to describe the Kingdom of God. What does this phrase mean to you? How are you part of this Kingdom?
How would you describe the Kingdom of God based on these 4 verses in Luke 13?
Please join us Sunday as we begin our Summer sermon series, Jesus the Storyteller. This Sunday's message is the Parable of the Kingdom of Heaven; our scripture readings are Psalm 105:1-11 and Luke 13:18-21.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
