On June 29 - July 2, kids will step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They’ll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms. We are now taking registrations for participants and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who helped with Clean Up Day on May 16. We had over 50 volunteers working both inside and outside the building. Special thanks to Scout Troop 16 and the Civil Air Patrol for their volunteer efforts. So much was accomplished because of you!

Elizabeth Simonton has been our Facilities Coordinator since January. Unfortunately for us, she will be moving out of state in early June. Her last full day of work with us is June 5. She will help us remotely until we find our next Facilities Coordinator.

Be sure to tell Elizabeth thank you for her work with us.

We are currently seeking applications for our next Facilities Coordinator. This part-time position will include: coordinate the building use calendar; develop relationships with both church and community groups using the building; work with vendors maintaining the church facility; and, coordinate maintenance contracts with vendors.

Our altar flowers each week are given in honor or memory of someone. We usually have one arrangement each Sunday. The church office orders from our vendor, Little Shop of Flowers. You do not need to contact our vendor directly; we handle it.

In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church. 

We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level. 

For June 7 Sunday worship:

• This week's sermon: Deborah the Judge and Warrior

• Scripture: Judges 4:4-10 and Judges 5:1-9

• Guiding Questions:

1. This month's sermon series is about HERoes, women of faith who inspire us. Who are women in your life who helped nurture your faith? What about their faith helped you?

2. Today we consider Deborah who was both Judge and Warrior. Our readings are from the book of Judges. What do you know about Judges, if anything? What do you think it means to call someone a judge?

3. In Judges 4:4, Deborah is identified as a prophet, a wife, and a judge. Consider what this meant for Deborah, to have these 3 roles. When have you experienced something similar in your life or saw it in someone you know and love?

4. In Judges 4:9, Deborah tells Barak that their enemy, Sisera, will be destroyed at the hand of a woman. Consider what that statement sounded like then and how it would sound today. [This story is told in Judges 4:17-22.]

5. In Judges 5:1-9, Deborah and Barak sang a song of triumph. What exactly are they celebrating? How is Deborah described in this song?

• 5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
