It's almost summer time, which means we are getting ready for our annual Youth and Family Bible and BBQ. We are looking for families to host the youth throughout the summer for a time to get together and get to know one another. Hosting includes allowing 20-30 people to come to your house (youth and families) and providing the drinks and meat (hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, etc) while everyone else brings side dishes and desserts to share. This is a laid-back time for youth and families to get connected.
If you would be interested in hosting, please click here.

The Feed My Starving Children team thanks to all who purchased Tagawa gift cards. Your purchases contributed 725 meals to our 2026 MobilePack, blessing children with a nutritious meal!
If you were unable to pick up your gift card this past Sunday, it may be picked up at the church office during office hours. Thanks so much for your support!
We need your help to make a video about safety and first aid at the church. The video will include small scenes where you would have specific lines, and those who are part of a larger group demonstrating evacuation procedures.
This is a great service project to help the church run safely and smoothly in the event of an emergency.
Anyone interested can help on Saturday, June 7. Arrive at the church at 8:45 a.m. in order to begin filming at 9 a.m. Goodies will be available as well.
If you are willing to learn lines, please email Sonja Parson and she will get a script to you ahead of time. Please respond ASAP to help the planning process.
Looking forward to budding actors to help us make our church safer!
Question: I want to help my church but have limited time. What can I do?
Invite someone to church. Whether a neighbor, friend, stranger, or family, we recognize that it is not easy to invite folks to church. The easiest way is to invite someone to a meal, a community service projects, to a special Sunday. It is easy to become discouraged when inviting people, because studies have shown it takes an average of 6 asks before someone will visit! We know that is a lot. But this is also why we have greater attendance in worship around special events such as concerts, Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School, etc. These are easier activities to attend when new. These are also the easiest to invite folks to participate.
Former Parker UMC member Gene Wilson's memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 21, at 4:30 p.m. at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (17700 E. Iliff Ave., Aurora, CO 80013). Refreshments will follow after the service.
Global Hope announces their Spring Event! Tickeckets have been donated for Parker UMC members or may be purchased online at Globalhope.org. To request a ticket, email Julie Kronbach. Then register your attendance on the Global Hope website, including any special dietary needs.
The Event is Thursday, June 19, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at The Denver Athletic Club, Rooftop, 1325 Glenarm Place, Denver CO. Keynote speaker is Pastor Cristian Istrate, Global Hope partner from Sibiu, Romania.
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. We hope this will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For May 18 worship:
New Heaven and New Earth
Scripture: Psalm 148 and Revelation 21:1-6
Guiding Questions:
Psalm 148 is all about praise. Who is praising God in this Psalm? What surprises you in this Psalm?
Revelation 8-20 depicts judgments upon the earth. Included are the opening of the 7th seal, the trumpet judgments, the dragon pursuing a woman and child, bowls of wrath, the fall of Babylon and battle of Armageddon, and the final judgment. Feel free to scan those chapters. Or find a handy-dandy summary.
Revelation 21:1-6 describes a new heaven and new earth which come after all of the previous chapters. What comes to mind when you consider this phrase, a new heaven and a new earth? the New Jerusalem?
21:3 describes God as now dwelling with God's people. How is this different from what you remember in other parts of the Bible? How might this dwelling be something new?
21:4 includes the promise that God will "wipe away every tear from their eyes.... There will be no mourning, crying, or pain anymore." How do you think this promise would sound to the original audience? How does it speak to us today?
Please join us Sunday as we continue our sermon series Revelation: Mysterious not Secretive. This Sunday's message is on Revelation 21:1-6, New Heaven and New Earth, and includes Psalm 148.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
