Kids will step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They’ll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms. We are now taking registrations for participants and volunteers. Sign Up for 2026 Altar Flowers
Our altar flowers each week are given in honor or memory of someone. We usually have one arrangement each Sunday. The church office orders from our vendor, Little Shop of Flowers. You do not need to contact our vendor directly; we handle it.
If you are interested in ordering flowers, please fill out the Sign Up Genius for 2026 here. You can also email or speak with Candi in the church office. Cost is $50 per arrangement.
Please speak with Candi Robinson if you have any questions.
Thanks for beautifying our altar table!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For May 10 Sunday worship:
This week's sermon: Be A Disciple #notjustachurchgoer
Scripture: Luke 9:23-25
Guiding Questions:
When you hear “be a disciple, not just a churchgoer,” what stands out to you? What’s the difference?
Read Luke 9:23-25. We are reading this through the lens of knowing about the death and resurrection of Jesus. How might these words be heard differently for the first followers of Jesus who did not know what was going to happen to him? What do you think this passage means in today’s world? What are some things people “gain” (success, image, comfort, etc.) that might actually pull them away from following Jesus?
Jesus says, “deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” Which part of that feels most challenging or confusing to you? What do you think “take up your cross daily” looks like in real life, not just in big moments, but ordinary ones?
Where in your life is it easy to follow Jesus? Where is it harder? Have you ever had to choose between what’s comfortable and what you felt Jesus was calling you to do? What happened?
A quote from Miroslav Volf says: “For Christians, faith is a precious good, the most valuable personal and social resource. When it is left untapped, the common good suffers, not just the particular interests of Christians.” What does it look like for faith to be “untapped” versus actively lived out as a disciple? What’s the difference in real, everyday terms? Do you think Christians sometimes treat faith as private rather than something meant for the common good? Why or why not?
How might your personal discipleship, your choices, actions, and relationships impact people beyond just yourself? What is one small, concrete way you can live more like a disciple this week instead of just going through the motions?
Please join us this Sunday as we continue our sermon series To Be or Not To Be the Church. This Sunday's message is "Be A Disciple #notjustachurchgoer" and our scripture reading is Luke 9:23-25.
