Stop in and shop (donation only) after each service outside the sanctuary on Sunday, May 4. This is Eden Gardeners' annual fundraiser. This year, funds will go to a new electric lawn mower and other equipment to care for the church grounds. Come get your plants to beautify your yard this summer, as well as other garden related items!
You can also bring in your plants to share. If your perennials need thinning, bring them, and any other plants, to the tables to sell after each service. We will have the tables labeled with categories, so just place your plants there before 10 a.m. -- herbs, annuals, perennials, houseplants, veggies, etc. Please label them as best you can. Also welcome are seed packets, pots, tools, books, anything garden related that you wish to donate.
All are welcome to join the Eden Gardeners group. For more information, email Diana Hill.

Our current sermon series is on the last book in the bible, Revelation. This 5-week series is April 27 - May 25. Starting April 27, there will be copies of a study guide available. Email Pastor Laura if you would like a copy of the PDF version.
Pastor Laura will offer a conversation time on Monday evenings, 6 p.m., in room 138 from April 28 - May 19, June 2-9. These will focus on the study guide that includes information associated with the sermons as well as those passages that won't be discussed in worship.
FaithTalk at 10 a.m. at Panera Bread on Wednesdays, will also use this study guide to facilitate conversations.
Please contact Pastor Laura if you have any questions. May the series and study guide help de-mystify the book of Revelation.
The Grandparents Group meets for socializing and fun on the the first Monday of each month. Next Monday, May 6, the group will meet at 12:30 p.m. -- bring your lunch, though beverages will be provided.

From Ruth Wills: Have you ever wanted to know more about our church, especially our United Methodist Church?
I am an equalization member for our Mountain Sky Conference, and took part in a recent Zoom meeting on what the upcoming annual meeting of our conference will be voting on. I am excited about what our international church is doing.
Two more Zoom meetings will be held: Thursday, May 1, 3-4:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 17, 9-10:30 a.m. These two meetings will share the four ballots that will be voted on at our yearly meeting, Annual Conference, this June 11 - 14 at St. Andrew UMC in Highlands Ranch. You can vote as an Equalization Member, in person or online. There is no limit to the number of equalization members from our church. The 4th ballot measure is about regionalization of the UMC, creating 8 regions around the globe. UMC churches in the United States would be one region.
Want to know more about the 4 measures? Check out the conference website.
Want to know more about Annual Conference? Check out this webpage.
Interested in learning more or serving as an Equalization Member, please speak with Pastor Laura.
Sincerely, Ruth Wills, a devoted member of our United Methodist Church since her early teen years.
The Parker UMC Endowment Team is hosting "What You Need to Know About Estate Planning" on Sunday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. in room 138. This one-hour seminar is aimed at bringing information about the need for estate planning and the current structures surrounding wills and estate planning. This will feature Parker's own will and estate attorney Brian Taylor. Please RSVP by contacting the church office.
Question: I want to help my church but have limited time. What can I do?
One of the easiest things to help your church is to write a positive review of the church. Online searches for churches are increasingly the first contact with visitors. Think of your very first contact. Was it as a search for a church, preschool, or worship services? Write a review based on your first impressions or what you value the most.
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. We hope this will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For May 4 worship:
Worthy is the Lamb
Scripture: Psalm 30 and Revelation 5:11-14
Guiding Questions:
Start with something easy: What does Psalm 30 say to you? The title in the NRSV says, Thanksgiving for recovery from grave illness. When have you similarly cried out for help and felt a healing? Maybe physical, maybe spiritally, maybe emotionally.
Revelation 5 begins with the opeining of a scroll. Some believe this is God's plan, but who can open it? But the Lion of Judah, the Root of David. Jesus is also called the Lamb. What do these names or images mean to you?
In today's passage of John's vision, he says angels surrounding the throne with living creatures and the elders. Who might these represent? In other words, who else is with God?
How might this image affect your understanding of worship?
Please join us Sunday as we continue our sermon series Revelation: Mysterious not Secretive. This Sunday's message is on Revelation 5:11-14, Worthy is the Lamb.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
