Upcoming Blood Drive
Giving blood isn't fun but saves lives. Thanks so much to the 14 donors for signing up for Parker UMC's Vitalant Blood Drive on Sunday, April 19, 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We need 18 more donors to fulfill our goal. There will be a signup table in the church on Sunday.
Remember that every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S needs blood due to cancer, car accidents, traumas, labor/deliveries and surgeries. Quality care depends on the availability of blood and right now there is a shortage. Who are the vulnerable ones now? Sign up through donors.vitalant.org and use drive code 0894. Or use the QR code on the left. Learn more about how your donation can change a life with this video.

Mission Trip Scholarships Needed
This summer, our youth are preparing to step out in faith and serve others through our upcoming mission trips to Colorado Springs and to Detroit. For some of our young people, the only thing standing between them and this life-changing experience is financial support.
If God has placed it on your heart to invest in the next generation, we invite you to consider contributing to our Youth Mission Trip Scholarship Fund. Every gift, large or small, makes a difference and helps ensure that no student is left behind because of financial need.
To give or to learn more, please email Pastor Cody.
Thank you for helping our youth make a difference!
UWF Book Group
The Parker UMC United Women in Faith (UWF) Book Group was not included in the Spring Flyer of Events.
All are welcome to join the UWF Book Group that meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room 137. Want to know more? Please contact Dottie Rasmussen (303-906-4397) to learn about the current book.
This summer, there will be a lunch meeting in June and then will return in September.
Check us out!
Why Have an Endowment Fund?
Like many other churches, Parker UMC has built an endomwnet fund that assures a flow of funds that will support some of the church's ministry for generations to come. The love and caring of those who have given have provided a basis for a lasting legacy. Your gifts and provisions in your will today will make a difference for your children and their children, as this church will continue to provide ministries to the Parker community and around the world.

Please speak with Candi Robinson if you have any questions.
Thanks for beautifying our altar table!
Beware of Text and Email Scams
Scammers are getting more creative, and churches are often a target because scammers know people want to be helpful and generous.
As you probably know, there have been several fake emails and text messages that have gone around pretending to be one of the pastors and maybe a staff member.
We want to make sure you know how to tell what is real and what is not.
Here is a document with more information.
If you have any questions, please speak with Pastor Laura.
We appreciate your diligence!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For April 12 Sunday worship:
This week's sermon: Resurrection Encounters: Jesus Meets Us In Our Doubts
Scripture: Psalm 16 and John 20:19-31
Guiding Questions:
Each week during this series, we will first hear from a Psalm. This week we hear from Psalm 16. What would you say is the main point of this Psalm? How does this describe the relationship we have with our Creator?
John 20:1-18 is this gospel's account of Easter morning. What parts of this story seem to be different from the other gospel accounts? Mary tells the disciples in verse 18, I have seen the Lord. How do you think they responded to her message?
John 20:19-23 is the first appearance of Jesus to his disciples. What makes this a dramatic encounter? How long do you think it took for the disciples to believe it was Jesus in front of them?
Verse 22-23 is John's Pentecost moment. What does receiving Jesus' spirit mean? How might it affect those who encountered Jesus?
The "fun" begins in verse 24. We call him Doubting Thomas. What does he doubt, specifically? What will "prove" it to him?
What does it take for Thomas to believe? What are the questions and doubts you have? What might help you believe? And is this even possible?
Please join us this Sunday as we start our sermon series, Resurrection Encounters. This Sunday's message is "Jesus Meets Us in our Doubts" and our scripture readings are Psalm 16 and John 20:19-31.
