Easter Baskets for Parker Task Force
Parker Task Force is in need of Easter Baskets for children in the community. We are going to be collecting wrapped baskets starting this Sunday, March 1 through Sunday, March 22.
Some ideas to fill the Easter Baskets with are a small stuffed animal, a book, candy, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, etc.
Please bring your filled and wrapped Easter Basket back to the church and help us spread some cheer to our neighbors in need!
Hygiene Kits for Those in Need
Alright PUMC, it's go time. We’re rallying to pack UMCOR hygiene kits that go straight to disaster survivors across the U.S. and beyond. When people lose everything, these kits are often the first sign that someone cares. Let’s pack the collection tubs next to the Manna bag station with generosity. Bring your donations now through Sunday, March 8 (packing at 10:00–10:30 a.m.) and let’s show up in a big way. Please follow the list below exactly – UMCOR has specific standards due to shipping items both here and abroad – and let's show up in a big way as Parker UMC!
1 Hand towel (15”x25”–17”x27”) (No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)
1 Washcloth (No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)

Thanks for beautifying our altar table!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For March 1 worship:
This week's sermon: The Good News is . . . great love for God and neighbor
Scripture: Luke 7:36-50; Matthew 25:35-40
Guiding Questions:
This week we reflect on what it means to love God and our neighbor. When you hear the word “neighbor” what comes to mind? Who do you picture?
Who does your heart break for? What neighbors are you called to love, pray for, or pay attention to in this season?
Read Luke 7:36-50. Consider what the woman brings and what she offers. As you reflect on what she carries, what do you carry? What can you offer to others and to God?
Jesus announces to Simon that this woman has shown "great love." Why do you think Jesus describes the woman’s actions, which are interpreted very differently by Simon and those at the dinner, in this way? How do her actions display great love, and what can we learn from her?
Read Matthew 25:35-40. If God is intimately with the “least of these,” where should we look to love our neighbor? What kind of neighbor would you like to be? What acts of compassion would you like to be known for? In what ways can these instructions found in Matthew move you into action?
Please join us this Sunday as we continue our sermon series, The Good New Is.... This Sunday's message is Great Love for God and Neighbor and our scripture readings are Luke 7:36-50; Matthew 25:35-40.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
