Pick up a copy of the application at the church office or download it now. Email your completed application to Pastor Cody or Candi Robinson.
Hygiene Kits for Those in Need
Alright PUMC, it's go time. We’re rallying to pack UMCOR hygiene kits that go straight to disaster survivors across the U.S. and beyond. When people lose everything, these kits are often the first sign that someone cares. Let’s pack the collection tubs next to the Manna bag station with generosity. Bring your donations now through Sunday, March 8 (packing at 10:00–10:30 a.m.) and let’s show up in a big way. Follow the list below exactly – UMCOR has specific standards due to shipping items both here and abroad – and let's show up in a big way as Parker UMC!
1 Hand towel (15”x25”–17”x27”) (No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)
1 Washcloth (No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)
1 Sturdy comb (at least 6” of teeth) (No pocket combs or picks)
1 Toenail or fingernail clipper (No emery boards or metal files)

Ushers Needed for One Sunday a Month
Looking for a great place to serve? We need your help!
We are looking for ushers to serve once a month on Sunday mornings. Ushers help greet at the Sanctuary doors, hand out bulletins, direct people if they have questions, pass out offering plates, and then help clean up after the service.
To get more information or to say "YES!" please email Pastor Cody.
Save the Date for VBS!
Save the date for our annual VBS, Rainforest Falls, June 29 - July 2. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They’ll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms. Registration opens on March 1. To volunteer or find out more information email Noelle.
Pastor Laura's Lenten Class
Pastor Laura will lead a study on Adam Hamilton's book, Why Did Jesus Have to Die? The Meaning of the Crucifixion. Join the class on Mondays, February 23 - March 30, at 6 p.m. in room 138 or by Zoom.
Please purchase the book on Amazon or Cokesbury or let Pastor Laura know by February 16 if you need her to purchase a copy for you. It took awhile for her to get hers.
You can let Pastor Laura know you are planning to participate. She can also send you the Zoom link should you need to participate virtually.
Group Knits Items for SECOR
Our Wednesday knitting and crocheting group has knit 57 hats for SECOR cards. Many thanks to them to helping persons in our community stay warm.
All are welcome on Wednesday afternoons, 1-3 p.m. in room 216, to knit, crochet, or just learn, with warm fellowship and some fun!
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. All are welcome to join one discussion group every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Room 216 in the church.
We hope this practice will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For February 22 worship:
This week's sermon: The Good News is . . . so good it catches us by surprise.
Scripture: John 2:1-11, Matthew 13:31-32
Guiding Questions:
Our worship series during Lent is Tell Me Something Good: Grounding Ourselves in the Good News This Lent. How might Lent bring good news? How might the story of Jesus, as we head toward the crucifixion and resurrection, be a sign of good news?
Our first reading in John 2 is the story of Jesus at the wedding in Cana. What is surprising to you in this story? What questions do you still have? Where might there be good news for you in this passage?
Our second readings is in Matthew's parable of the mustard seed. What is surprising about this parable of the mustard seed? What does a mustard seed represent to you? What needs tending in order to bring growth and fruit in your life?
Finally, what do these two stories have in common for you?
Please join us this Sunday as we continue our sermon series, How to Hear God. This Sunday's message is Discerning God's Will For Your Life and our scripture readings are Romans 12:1-2 and James 1:5-7.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
