One of our four Endowment Funds at Parker UMC is the Scholarship Fund. Income is used each year to provide scholarships to our qualified High School seniors who apply, and who are going on for more college or vocational education.
It is a great way to support the youth who have been active in the church.

Mountain Sky Annual Conference is June 11-14 at St. Andrew UMC in Highlands Ranch, CO. Because there should be an equal number of lay and clergy delegates, the Colorado Front Range District is looking for Lay Equalization Delegates. We also need 2 delegates from our church. If you are interested in learning more, please speak with Pastor Laura. She can give you more information. We had a great group last year, and it is so close to home this year!
A choir director asked his choir a favor. He said, “I would like you to present music in worship and when you leave the chancel, go and sit in a different place in worship for 2 months.” He happily reported to them in 3 months that the choir doubled in size after this experiment. The newest members of the choir reported in that conversation that they joined the choir only after members of the choir invited them during this “experiment.”
Imagine what it would be like if a church likewise struck up conversations in worship like these choir members did?
This summer from June 23-26, we will guide kids on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where northern lights glow over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and glistening glaciers. As kids trek the tundra, they’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus, True North VBS shows kids that God is a faithful friend we can always trust. God is our True North! For more informations email Noelle
Kids in 3rd grade and older are welcome to join the Ukulele Class. Kids will learn the basics of the instrument, sing songs and share God's great big love. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7:15-7:45 (following Children's Handbell Choir) in the sanctuary. For more informations email Noelle
Who is God? Why do bad things happen to good people? Having doubts is a normal part of human life, part of our human experience. Admit it -- you've had them too!
Join Pastor Laura on Monday evenings, March 10 - April 7, in Lent to discuss these and other questions that will be part of Lenten Sermon Series (March 5 - April 20).
Her class will meet in room 138, 6 - 7 p.m. Please let her know if you are interested in attending any of these classes.
Let's ask Questions to God together.
Lent begins Wednesday, March 5, on Ash Wednesday, and we need your help! This is one of our biggest community outreaches as we provide drive-thru ashes in the morning and afternoon. Please let Pastor Laura or Pastor Cody know if you can help greet people in our parking lots and mark your calendars for these different opportunities to participate!
Join us on Ash Wednesday in one of 3 ways:
Drive-thru ashes in the church parking lot, 7 - 8:30 a.m.
Drive-thru ashes in the church parking lot, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Ash Wednesday service in the sanctuary, 7 pm
And make sure to spread the word and invite your neighbors and friends!
Time to clean out your closets! Our youth are hosting a shoe drive to support mission work. Donate new or used shoes to help those in crisis, including the unhoused and children in need, while also supporting small businesses and benefiting the environment.
Drop off shoes at the church in February. Look for the collection boxes—one for sneakers and one for other shoes. Email Noelle for more information.
The Contemporary Christian Book Group invites you to join us this spring to discuss the following books:
March 12: Philip Yancey, Soul Survivor: How Thirteen Unlikely Mentors Helped My Faith Survive the Church (last half of the book)
April 2: Tom Lake by Ann Patchett (Fiction)
May 7: All the Beauty in the World: The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Me by Patrick Bringley (Non-fiction)
June 4: The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters (Fiction)
We meet at the church with a Zoom component, starting at 6:30 p.m. Please feel free to join us as you are able! Questions? Contact Susan Gustin
Are you interested in ensuring we have altar flowers during Sunday worship?
Please sign up to provide flowers in 2025. If you have any questions, you can contact Sarah in the church office.
All are welcome to join us for adult Sunday school during the 10:30 hour from February 9 - March 2 as we ponder God's words in Micah 6:8. Questions? Contact Susan Gustin.
In preparation for Sunday worship, here are questions to consider ahead of time. You can use these in your own devotion time, in conversation with family and friends, or in a small group setting. We hope this will help you engage with the scriptural texts and sermon at a deeper faith level.
For February 16 worship:
Sermon Title: Feeding the Multitudes . . . Again
Scripture: Psalm 107:1-9 and Mark 8:1-10
Guiding Questions:
Read Psalm 107:1-9. This is one of those familiar psalms when the psalmist thanks the Lord for what God has done in the past. When have you experienced God in your difficulties? How did you know it was God? Or what made you think God was there?
Mark 8:1-10 is a time that "again a great crowd" was following Jesus and was hungry. Look through the previous chapters in Mark to see when Jesus also fed a crowd. What is different between that scene and today's reading?
The crowds in Mark 8 had followed Jesus for 3 days. Apparently they were hungrier for experiencing him than for eating food. What might you be willing to give up to follow Jesus? What in your life is comfortable that would be difficult to give up?
Please join us this Sunday as we continue our sermon series When Jesus Makes Our Lives Difficult. This Sunday's message is Feeding the Multitudes . . . Again and the scripture readings for this Sunday are Psalm 107:1-9 and Mark 8:1-10.
9 a.m. Sunday: Blended service with traditional elements and a variety of music including hymns, handbells and choir.
10:30 a.m. Spark! Worship: This service includes contemporary praise music, and an informal style that offers a play area for children, opportunities for you to be involved in service, and the freedom to practice prayer and worship in exciting and personalized ways.
5:30 p.m. 2nd Wednesday of each month: At The Table. We gather around a meal, share conversation and stories of faith, and complete a small mission project.
All requests to add an item to the Midweek should be emailed to Pastor Laura by 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
