About the Director

Mr. Jake Johnson comes to Parker Performing Arts School with experience teaching symphonic band, concert band, guitar classes, marching band, as well as jazz combos and jazz ensembles.  He has worked as the music director at Fort Lupton High School, Saratoga Middle High School and as the assistant band director at Loveland High School. Mr. Johnson also had the opportunity to work with the Preston Middle School Jazz Band, Webber Middle School Jazz Band, Poudre High School Jazz Combo and Poudre High School Jazz Ensemble I in the Poudre School District. 


Mr. Johnson was a member and alto saxophone section leader in the Colorado State University Marching Band for three years, and performed with  CSU Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Saxophone Quartets and Jazz Ensemble 2. Mr. Johnson graduated from Colorado State University May 2013 with Bachelors in Music Education.


Mr. Johnson believes that being an active musician is an important part of being an effective music educator. He has appeared with The Jane Robinett Quartet, Colorado Swing Big Band, The Fort Collins Wind Symphony, The Health and Wellness Community Orchestra, The Larimer Chorale and Voices West.  


Mr. Johnson is very excited to be a part the music team at Parker Performing Arts School.
