Thank you so much for your interest in the PWI youth mentorship program for youth in foster care. These services are for youth ages 9-21 with an open DHS case at risk of or experiencing placement instability who would benefit from community-based mentoring and/or educational tutoring services.
We provide the following services for youth in foster care:
YES! general mentorship
Education-specific mentorship
CSEC-specific mentorship through our MyLife program

In order to be eligible for Focus Funded YES Mentoring Services, youth must be at risk of or experiencing placement instability.
Youth must be between the ages of 9-21
You must have an active DHS case that is anticipated to remain open for the next six months.
Youth must currently reside in Oregon and within Multnomah, Clackamas, or Washington County.
In addition, they may be experiencing some of the following:
Mental health concerns
Struggling with the effects of trauma
Lack of connections to healthy family, friends, or community
Education concerns
CSEC identified
Substance use/abuse
Criminal Justice involvement
Experiencing loss or grief
Lack of coping skills
YES! Mentorship service will close when youth meet or experience any of the following.
DHS case closing
Unable to access (moved out of area, unable to locate, restricted access based on high level of care etc.)
Lack of consistent engagement and/or participation
Youth has indicated they are no longer interested in participating
Has achieved and maintained significant progress towards PWI Impact Goals
Self: Develop an Authentic Sense of Self
Youth demonstrate ability to cope with life stressors
Youth feel confident in their ability to advocate for their needs
Youth can make positive and loving statements about themselves
Youth have love and appreciation for who they are
Others: Identify and Sustain Safe and Healthy Relationships
Youth has a strong connection with a healthy adult that exists as a natural support
Youth actively identifies and strives to connect with healthy peers
Youth has a good understanding of healthy relationships and understands the importance of setting boundaries
Community: Create and Participate in a safe community
Youth take an active role in a healthy community (not contingent on services)
Youth understand the importance of long-term community support
Future: Youth will live with intention
Youth consistently sets goals and takes steps to achieve them.
Youth demonstrates an understanding and investment in their future.
