National Book Store is a book retail company that sells books and school/office supplies. It was founded in 1942 by Jose and Socorro Ramos to provide materials for the people, especially the less fortunate ones. In 1945, National Book Store reopened in Rizal after it was burnt down to crisp during the Japanese occupation. In 1948, the same branch was destroyed by typhoon Gene. After 21 years, Jose and Socorro reopened National Book Store in the same place (Avenida, Rizal), and decade after decade, the company continually thrived until the present day. Having 230 branches nationwide and an impressive market share of 20%; National Book Store is no stranger to any Filipino.

Given that National Book Store has more than 200 branches nationwide, it is no surprise it has a multitude of workers. Employees reached 2,500 in 2015 and are now estimated to have around 2,500 to 5000 as of 2022. Its main headquarter is located in G/F Quad Alpha Centrum, 125 Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong 1550, Metro Manila, Philippines. In their headquarters, there they distribute books and store a few materials as reserves and plan on how to distribute their goods. There also lies a branch of the National Book Store in the same building as their headquarters.
