Understanding the High School Schedule

General Information

PHS has a Rotating Drop Schedule: Students have an 8-period schedule but only meet 6 periods each day; 3 in the AM Block and 3 in the PM Block. Each day one period in the rotation drops. Therefore, each class does not meet every day.

AM Block: Periods 1-4 PM Block: Periods 5-8

FY = Full Year (Total of 4 marking periods or 2 semesters)

S1 or S2 = Semester (Total of 2 marking periods; Half Year); S1 meets for the first two marking periods of the school year; S2 meets for the last two marking periods of the school year.

Q = Quarter (Total of 1 marking period); can meet in one of four quarters: Q1 ( MP1), Q2 (MP2), Q3 (MP3), or Q4 (MP4).
