Myanmar is currently undergoing significant political and social changes, and it is unequivocally clear that the youth hold the key to these transformative developments. Program Description
Advocacy to Inclusion (AI) workshop is a 2 day capacity building workshop that develops and strengthens Parami University students’ awareness about Diversity, Inclusion, SOGIESC and Advocacy, while fostering interactive discussions among participants regarding diversity and inclusion situations in the Parami University community. Workshop specifically connected diversity with SOGIESC inclusion, ensuring participants understand and embrace the differences in sexual orientation, gender identity, expression and sex characteristics. The aim of the workshop is to help students (participants) embrace SOGIESC diversity and inclusion as well as to equip them with advocacy tools and knowledge. In Day 1, trainers covered Diversity and Inclusion definition, Diversity and Inclusion Framework (DEI), SOGIESC and the importance of SOGIESC inclusion to achieve gender equality. In Day 2, trainers encompassed advocacy introduction, roles of advocacy, power analysis and advocacy cycle.
