Aishik Sen

Baritone

About Aishik

Aishik is currently a 12th grader at Perth Amboy High School, NJ.

This is his 4th year as a Baritone in the PAHS Show Choir and Gospel Choir (2nd year as Bass Section leader for both), 3rd year in the Chorale, and 2nd year in the Chamber Singers. Alongside the choirs, Aishik has performed in Footloose in 2020, Freaky Friday as various characters in 2022, and is going to perform in Into the Woods 2023 as the Baker, all PAHS Spring Musicals. Additionally, as of January 2023, Aishik was accepted to the CJMEA Region Choir. He loves the new experiences, challenges, and lessons they all come with, and would like to continue performing in similar ensembles even throughout college.

His initial entry into music is closer to his heritage. Born in India, Aishik was first exposed to Hindustani Classical Music. He immediately fell in love with the intricacy of the artform, and started taking classes from a guru around the age of 10. Learning Hindustani Classical Vocal from several different teachers in the tri-state area as well as outside, he's performed at many different locations and events over the years. This includes NABC 2015 at Madison Square Garden, NY, NABC 2018 at Atlantic City, NJ, NABC 2022 at Las Vegas, NV, Raag Rang 2022, NJ, and many others. He still learns Hindustani Classical, and plans to keep practicing and performing.

Aside from being an aspiring musician, passionate reader, and avid gamer, Aishik has always had a great interest in the sciences, stemming from a fascination with space which still continues. He considers art and science to be cut from the same cloth, two different facets of the same natural laws. As the current president of the Science National Honors Society chapter at his school, he plans to continue studying biology in college, and possibly minor in music alongside it.
