The major aim of geometry is to develop geometric awareness . This means you are working on the following three concepts when you are learning about geometry.
Shapes and the properties of objects so you can tell objects apart, classify them and know their basic properties
An understanding of two- and three-dimensional space so you can understand location, follow directions and navigate using simple maps
An understanding of patterns and transformations i.e. symmetry, rotation, reflection, tessellations, translations
Week 8 - GEOMETRY Test - Math Buddy
Brainstorm - what do we know about Geometry?
Statistics is a strand of mathematics that is all about data; collecting data, organising data, presenting data and interpreting data.
Statistics can help people better understand things that happen everyday. For example: how students get to school, what do students eat for breakfast, how many people use the library each day etc
Brainstorm - what do we know about STATISTICS?
