pictogram art

Pictograms are simple sihouettes or images to represent the characteristics of a sport.

There were so many diverse countries with many languages the committee decided that pictures of sports would be a great way to communicate with everyone.

So in 1964, the Olympics began representing events in the Games through a set of pictures or pictograms. Now most large sporting events use pictograms to represent the sports in the competition.

OUR ART

Choose 2 sports from the 2022 Commonwealth Games and think about what you could draw to represent that sport.

Look at the examples to give you some ideas. Have a go using draft paper.
