Learn your doubles and halves to 10.

4+4=                3+3=                  2+2=                                Learn all the basic facts off by heart. 

6+6=                1+1=                  5+5=                               Ask someone to test you.

8+8=       0+0=       7+7=       9+9=         etc...                 Time yourself. Try for 10 in 10 seconds!

Now try take aways!  

8-4=               10-5=                18-9=                                    Do these with some spoons, pegs or  toys. 

14-7=              4-2=                 2-1=                                      Make up some  number  stories.

0-0=        12-6=       16-8=      6-3=        etc...                      Another word for take away is subtract.
