Pat Hanly Creativity Award
Congratulations to Benny Aholelei ( L3 Painting, Photography & Design student) who was selected to receive a 'Pat Hanly Creativity Award' on August 4 at the Auckland Art Gallery.
The Pat Hanly Creativity Awards are open to Year 13 students of a Visual Arts subject, from the greater Auckland area. Heads of department are invited to nominate a Year 13 student who has demonstrated 'outstanding creativity, imagination and commitment'.
Wallace Secondary School Art Awards
Congratulations again to Benny who was selected as a finalist in the Sixth Wallace Secondary School Art Awards. Over 300 entries from across New Zealand were received. 31 works were selected for the finalists exhibition and Papakura High was part of it! The awards night was on the 11th of September at Pah Homestead . Although Benny wasn't a major prize winner it was still a great achievement to be selected from so many entries and a great opportunity to network.
