"The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking." -Albert Einstein
My name is Fred Johnson, and I graduated from the University of Akron in 1999. That same year, I began teaching science at Manchester Middle School. After making it through the whole Y2K scare during my first year, I went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and a Computer Science Endorsement from the University of Akron.
I not only teach in the district but also live in New Franklin with my wife and our five children, who all attend schools here in the district.
In this class, more than anything, you will be asked to think. We will strive to have fun, work hard, and exercise our minds. Your education is mostly your responsibility but, part of the responsibility lies with me as your teacher. There are some high expectations in this class that I am sure you can meet if you dedicate yourself. I can promise you this class will not be easy, and it will not be boring. I will work to teach you science in a way that is interactive and exciting, and I will treat you with respect and fairness.
