Our goal is to encourage students to discover what they enjoy reading by giving them choice. We believe that student choice is key in the success of personal reading experiences. The books that were selected have been read and discussed among all English teachers in the English department. Only one book from a student's course is required for the summer reading, unless they are in an advanced or AP course.
We are pleased to premiere our first summer reading website for Manchester High School students. On this site, you will find apps to download for reading, public library partner links, book lists for each course, the summer reading worksheet due at the beginning of the school year, and teacher letters. Your student should come home with the paper assigned, but we do know that life happens and people misplace items. In this respect, you will find all the information on panthercountry.org. We hope that you have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to meeting our new students in August.
Sincerely,
The English Department
