Scoring for Education is a fundraiser the Pana Education Foundation put in place over 20 years ago. The fundraiser was designed to create partnerships with businesses within our community. To date, First National Bank of Pana and Peoples Bank and Trust have participated in this partnership. The bidding process is used for successful 3-point shots for both boys and girls Varsity basketball season home games. The winning bid determines the Season Sponsor. The bidding process is also used to determine the Season Sponsor Home Specialty Games. Home Specialty games are determined by the Pana Education Foundation from the roster line-up. Carlinville, Vandalia and Greenville were chosen for the Specialty games this year for both Varsity boys’ and girls’ games.
This year, First National Bank of Pana won the bid for the Season Sponsor for all home games at $35.00 per successful 3-point shot. FNB and Peoples Bank and Trust served as Co-sponsors for the Specialty Games at $85.00 per 3-point basket, totaling $170 per basket.
"We would like to thank our strong sponsors of this fundraiser for all their support of the PEF. Monies gifted to the foundation go towards annual scholarships, classroom mini-grants and special projects," said Carter-Beeson, PEF President.
