Our NDA Program at Pan American International High School seeks to help students develop in an integral way, supporting their academic, social and social-emotional development.
What is the NDA Program at PAIHS?
Guided by the principle of promoting student well-being at Pan American International High School, the NDA program (Neighborhood Development Area) aims to provide resources to students by offering academic support, paid internships, social-emotional and academic support workshops and job training. We collaborate closely with the PAIHS Community School as well as other services and organizations to support. our students and their families in adjusting to a new life in the United States, learning English and acquiring the skills they need to succeed academically and in life.

Our NDA program (Neighborhood Development Area) aims to provide resources to students to be able to perform paid internship hours, attend psycho-emotional and academic support workshops and job training.
This program is geared to support the student community in achieving their short-term and long-term goals through specific programs, creative activities and workshops delivered weekly.
After-school internships and individual interactions foster student development, and offer referrals to community resources and programs tailored to their individual needs.
Among the skills that the student can develop or improve with our programs are:
Communication skills through oral and written expression, as well as through creative processes.
Leadership skills and attitude
Analytical resolution of specific situations
Develop or potentiate emotional intelligence
Job Training
Improve attendance and a sense of responsibility
In addition, students who qualify for the program will receive support directly from our Family Development Coaches (FDCs) in areas such as:
Collaboration and teamwork
Learning projects and social-emotional skills
Counseling
Tutoring
Life skills
Job Readiness Training
Development of leadership skills
Development of skills for urban interaction and displacement
As part of the CHFS Network and the PAIHS Community School, students and their families receive:
In school mental health clinic referrals and medical clinic services
Family engagement activities such as trips to cultural sites of New York City
Cuturally significant after school program activities such as Ecuadorian Dance and Quichua language reinforcement
Tutoring and success mentoring
Dental and vision clinic services
Food pantry referrals and in-school food deliveries
After school jobs if qualified after completing NDA intenship
Family Support Services in Queens to help families during crisis
Art Therapy services
As part of the comprehensive support for young people, trips are made to iconic and important places for their education and general culture. This time we share some photographs of a trip to The 9/11 Memorial Museum.
