NDA Program at Pan American International High School
The students of Pan American who participate in the NDA program attend weekly workshops which center an SEL and strengths-based approach. These workshops include SEL and wellness activities in addition to academic enrichment curriculum, including but not limited to resumé building workshops, introductions to study skills and academic tools, college preparation, and job-readiness training.
After school, the students also have the opportunity to participate in a paid internship. The internship occurs in the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services’ Arts & Literacy program. The students of PAIHS support the afterschool teachers with their activities, homework help, and classroom management. NDA interns are able to make professional connections, gain exposure to education-based and childcare work experiences, and grow their resume.
Each student also receives a monthly coaching/counseling session. These meetings offer the students additional emotional support and structure to help them succeed in accomplishing their academic and personal goals.
Students in the NDA Program 2023-23 were interested in visiting the 9-11 Museum and learning about the history of their new city. See photos here.
