Athletics
We offer a competitive, year round athletics program for both middle school boys and girls grades 5-8. The athletics programs are broken up into four seasons. The first season starts at the beginning of the school year and runs roughly until fall break. It consists of Boys and Girls Cross Country and Girls Volleyball. The next season starts around fall break and extends until just before winter break and consists of Girls' Softball and Boys' Basketball. The third season begins just after winter break and runs until spring break. Girls Basketball and Wrestling occur during this season. Finally, during the last season, which runs from spring break until the end of the school year consists of Baseball and Track. All events and practices are listed on the school calendar on the main page.
There is a sports fee of $25 per student per sport which covers the costs of referees and transportation. Please make checks payable to Coronado Elementary School.
TAX CREDIT FORM When you pay the $25 Sports Fee, please complete a Tax Credit form and send it to us with your payment. This will enable you to claim the contribution back on your state taxes. Checks should be made payable to Coronado Elementary School.
Sports Calendar
Sports practices are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays unless otherwise notified by your coach. Games/meets are on the main school calendar.
Transportation
The school district provides transportation home for students at 5pm after sports/extra curricular practices, and transportation back to the school only after games and meets. The school cannot tell you exactly what time students will arrive back at school after meets and games, so please keep in touch with the coach for up to date information.
Knowledge Bowl
Knowledge Bowl is a year-round competitive general knowledge tournament and students in grades 6-8 are eligible to participate. There is a competition once a month. Sports permission slip and liability waiver are needed as well as the $25 sports fee, but no sports physical is required.
