Exploring the Future of Manufacturing through Tri-State MakerFest!
Students spent the morning at John Wood Community College’s Workforce Development Center getting hands-on with industrial maintenance, machining, welding, HVAC, and electrical systems. They also learned about career pathways in advanced manufacturing, transportation, logistics, and technical trades including the Great River FAME earn-and-learn program, where students can work for local manufacturers while earning their degree.
The day continued with a career presentation at ADM and a walking tour through the TACO line at General Mills, giving students an inside look at how classroom concepts come to life in real-world production.
