For many reasons, your junior year is so important. This is your last year to improve your GPA or repair prior damage. The grades you end this year with will be the ones which you use to apply to college. In addition to keeping your grades up, there are MANY things you can do to prepare yourself to apply next fall. That is why we're providing you with a JUNIOR YEAR CHECKLIST.

My Junior Year Checklist... What Do I Need to Do???
- Take a junior academic schedule as rigorous as you can manage and still do well.
- Create an appropriate email account & review your social media "image."
- If you're not already, GET INVOLVED (see "Getting Involved" tab). Already involved? Seek to lead!
- Schedule to take the SAT and ACT in late fall or early spring. Study & retake the one on which you performed better. Know what you need to get into where you hope to attend! (see university matrix below for the 50% range "profile" of this past year's incoming freshman class at your Florida university)
- Start your college visits, virtually and/or in person, and identify "safe" schools and "reach" schools where you plan to apply.
- Explore careers (what you hope to do) & fields of study (what you study in school to do that career) using Florida Shines & My Career Shines (see Florida Shines/My Career Shines tab).
- Begin drafting your college resume (see below) or "Brag Sheet," recalling all that you've done to become YOU!
- Familiarize yourself with the application process and desired application route your choice schools prefer.
- Commit to a senior academic schedule as rigorous as you can manage and still do well.
- KEEP YOUR GRADES UP!!!! THIS YEAR IS YOUR LAST OPPORTUNITY TO MOVE YOUR GPA~!!
