FY25 Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) Progress Monitoring Information for Parents

Your child has taken the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST). This assessment is part of state progress monitoring and will be administered three times per year. These assessments measure your child’s proficiency in literacy and/or mathematics. 

It is important to understand that many factors may have affected your child’s scores and that these scores provide only one picture of how your child is doing in school. These assessments include items that cover the entire year’s content. This means that your child likely encountered items that covered content they had not yet been taught. For this reason, your child’s results from the first administration are for informational purposes only. The links below will help you understand the scores available in the SIS Parent Gateway.

Su hijo(a) ha tomado la Evaluación de la Florida del Pensamiento Estudiantil (FAST). Esta evaluación es parte del monitoreo del progreso por parte del estado y se administrará tres veces al año. Estas evaluaciones miden la competencia de su hijo en alfabetización y/o matemáticas. 

Es importante comprender que muchos factores pueden haber afectado los puntajes de su hijo y que estos puntajes reflejan solo una parte de cómo le está yendo a su hijo en la escuela. Estas evaluaciones incluyen preguntas que abarcan el contenido del año entero. Esto significa que su hijo probablemente encontró preguntas que abarcaban contenido que aún no se le había enseñado.
