Teachers: booking your classes and additional info

Booking Classes and Sending Students to the Media Center

Dear teachers, if you would like to book your class to come and check out books, please email Ms. Rivas and copy Ms. Grace requesting a date. A lot goes on behind the scenes in the Media Center, therefore I cannot book classes everyday. If the date you have asked for is unavailable, I will recommend another date, and we can go from there.

If you are attempting to book a date for the library, and the date you want is unavailable: There are no fines for overdue materials; however, if a book becomes lost, the book must be paid for so that it may replaced. However, books should be renewed or returned by the due date. When a preferred date is unavailable, some teachers prefer the alternative options below:

Returning books: It doesn't matter if we are booked. Students just have to put them in the box in the café, the box outside of the Media Center, or the drop slot at the circulation desk. Ms. Grace or myself can check them back in later.

Renewing books: If it's only one or two students that need to renew, they can bring their own book(s). If it's more than a few students that need to renew: send a student or two with several or all of the other students' books during each class. This is far more time-efficient

New check-outs: If only a few students need to check out a book, feel free to send them when their work is completed. If it is most of the class/ all classes, they can come on their own time (before or after school), or consider booking a date for new-check outs. Hours: The Media Center is open for book check-out/renewals from 8:45 AM- 4:15 PM. However, the Media Center does close on occasion due to testing, events, etc.
