A smashing start to another year of victory! OH Debate scores 22 total placements for the first in-person tournament since 2020. This includes 3 first place rankings as well as a team that is hungry for more. During this tournament OH fought through the chambers of congress, novice and veteran, to earn each placement through biting words and countless speeches. The team is clearly ready to pounce and bring it's best for tournaments to come!
OH Debate - PBCFL #1 Placements
OH Debate cannot be beat! This month, 16 members scored notable placements out of 26 total entries (62%)! This includes a first place ranking from Maxwell Greenspan in Student Congress amidst a competitive chamber. Additionally, OH competed in 4 total event types: Student Congress, Public Forum, Original Oratory, and Oral Interpretation. With an eye on further placements, we are certain that this is just the beginning for OH Debate.
A record 77% of the OH Debate team placed at the last tournament! Team novices led this charge in their congress chambers by securing seven 1st place trophies as did veterans Maddie Seifer and Tyler Levin achieve a well earned 2nd place in Public Forum. Additionally, OH maintained it's reputation for dominating all event types with placements in a total of four event categories. With this rapidly growing momentum, the sky is the limit for the OH lions!
OH Debate - PBCFL #4 Placements
OH Debate finishes another successful tournament with 13 placements in 5 total categories! Rose Soroka-Quiroz secured the team's consistent 1st place record as did Hannah Rogers continue our LD placement streak. As Quals looms over the horizon, the team knows it's time to work harder than ever for the next tournament!
The OH Debate team has finally reached it's final destination: Grand Finals! With the tournament in their own backyard, the team passionately tackled the 5 laborious rounds to finish the day in gold. 15 OH Debate team members qualified for the NCFL National tournament in May. This includes qualifiers in Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, Original Oratory, and Oral Interpretation. Regardless of qualification, the entire team is worthy of praise for their consistent effort, accomplishments, and collaboration. Team captain Gabby remarks that she couldn't be prouder of everyone.
