Fines Schedule for Book Damages
Minor or Repairable Damage
Ink and foreign substances on parts of the main section: $0.50 per page; on other pages- $0.25 per page
Marks on the edges of book: 10% of the cost of replacement per side
Torn pages: On parts of the main section- $1.00 per page; on other pages- $0.50 per page
Missing labels and barcodes: $2.00 per spine label (including Reading Counts markers); $2.00 for barcode
Missing Due Date card: $0.50
Missing book pockets: $3.00 for pocket and sensor
Water damage: Minor water damage that does not affect the ability to use the book- $5.00
Severe Damage
Cover damage: Bent- $1.00-$5.00 depending upon extent of damage; Missing book jacket- 25% of cost up to the cost of replacement; Torn- $2.00 up to the cost of replacement
Missing pages: The cost of replacement
Damage from animals: The cost of replacement
Lost books: The cost of replacement (A book is considered lost if it is not returned 4 months past the due date.)
Water damage: If water damage affects the ability to use the book, the cost of replacement
Other types of damages will be assessed and fined as needed.
