"Jupiter Raider's Competition"

Parental support is one of the main ingredients to winning.  Thank you!

"Inspiring parental support"

"I have tried to be supportive of Morgan in everything that she does.  I believe as a parent, my job is to assist in my child’s adventures and attempt to motivate her when it becomes necessary.  I’ve never really had to do that with her.  At 6 she started attending Tae Kwon Do classes, and was immediately hooked.  She would go to class at least four times each week and I would try to be there for at least a portion of each of the class.  I never missed a competition in which she fought and was there each and every time she was awarded a higher belt, right up until she was awarded her third degree black belt.

As it relates to JROTC, I have never pushed her to participate, but once she decides to be a part of a team, she is all in and so am I.  I have attended every Raider and Drill team competition she has competed in since 9th grade.  I try to motivate Morgan and her teammates as best I can during every competition, especially those that are held at “OUR HOUSE”.  After she graduates, someone else needs to start bringing the donuts to the drill competitions!  During the summer, Morgan and I work out getting ready for Raider season, including running, lifting and practicing sprints with kettle bells.  It was so much fun to travel up to Lakeland for the State Raider Competition and to watch our team and to hang out with some of the other parents.  This past season, I was fortunate enough to assist in the running of the concession stand during Drill Team regionals.

I have watched Morgan grow from a shy 9th grader to a strong leader who enjoys leading the Battalion of Warriors each and every day.  I can’t explain how much fun it has been for me to watch her soar over these past years, but everyone who can, certainly should take the opportunity to support their Cadet and this phenomenal JROTC program."
