College Search

The College Planning tools in Naviance bring the common tasks involved with college planning into one system.


1. Navigate to Colleges > Find your Fit > College Match.

2. The Colleges Looking for Students Like You tab is displayed by default. There are a total of three tabs available: College Looking for Students Like You, Colleges Other Students Like, and Colleges that Have Accepted Students Like You

College Match

ActiveMatch helps students discover colleges that are interested in students like them based on specific filters and/or geographic area. When a student matches one or more of these filters (set by the college), the college will be displayed to the student in the College Match results in their Naviance Student account. Some of the ActiveMatch filters that colleges can use include state, gender, academic ability, ethnicity, grade level, and competitor college. The filter settings are chosen by colleges and matched against what is in a student’s profile in Naviance.


SuperMatch®

SuperMatch® is college search tool that makes it easier for students to explore their options and discover colleges that are a match with the academic profile and a fit with what they're looking for in a college experience.

Students can access the SuperMatch® assessment by logging into Naviance Student and going to Colleges Home > Find Your Fit > College Search > SuperMatch

Scattergrams

  • In Naviance, a scattergram shows GPA on the x-axis and SAT, ACT or other standardized test scores on the y-axis.

  • Scattergrams are used to analyze Dreyfoos student history of applications to a college.

StrengthsExplorer®

StrengthsExplorer® is a strengths assessment that assesses 10 talent themes for individuals and identifies each student’s three strongest emerging talents. Upon completion of StrengthsExplorer, students will be provided with explanations of their top three themes and will learn how to capitalize on their success and discover what they need to do next to continue building on their strengths.

Students can access the StrengthsExplorer assessment by logging into Naviance Student and going to About Me > My Assessments > StrengthsExplorer.

Career Planning & Assessments

  • The Career Planning and assessment tools in Naviance allow students to realize their strengths, goals, skills, knowledge, values, constraints, and interests to help them make better academic decisions.

  • The Career Cluster Finder is an online questionnaire that helps students discover career clusters that are most interesting to them.

  • The Career Interest Profiler is an online career interest assessment for students based on Holland's interest codes. When students complete the Career Interest Profiler, their results will display their top Holland Code matches.
