Under Assignment Expectations, you will see a copy of the assignment handout given to you by your teacher.

Next, you will see outline resources. There is also a slideshow embedded, a sheet that models how you can develop your outline, along with a copy of the outline rubric that your teacher will use to grade your outline.
Afterwards, you will see citations resources. There is a slideshow that helps you to understand how to parenthetically cite within your paper, links to NoodleTools and Purdue OWL, and a copy of the citations rubric that your teacher will use to grade your citations.
Next you will see the persuasive essay rubric that will be used to grade the writing of your paper.
Note: For this project you will be graded against four rubrics: The persuasive essay rubric (80 points total), the thesis statement rubric (10 points total), the outline rubric (10 points total), and the citations rubric (20 points total).

Additionally, you can search for your own articles and eBooks, etc. to gather expert information for your research. Included underneath is the 9th grade social studies summer assignment packet. It is just there for your convenience, just in case you wanted to refer back to it for this assignment. At the very bottom are resources that are linked just in case you would like assistance with writing and organizing as you go through the research process.
